    Analog throwing (fielding) unforgiving.

I know it's been brought up and that it is because the sticks of the dual shock 4 are more sensitive but I just can't play the game this way anymore and that shouldn't be their intention.

I love analog throwing (feels more natural than buttons) and on the ps3 I was in between veteran and all-star. But now on the ps4 I even have a hard time on rookie!

Especially throwing to second base is almost always a guaranteed yellow throw for me. I've tested this back to back with only watching my finger flick the stick true north but still it ends up a yellow throw.

Please tone down the difficulty a little bit because I'm forced to play with button throwing now

Does anyone else feel my pain?

Loving the game besides this by the way!

    Thanks.

Yes this is infuriating and needs to be tuned or patched. This is about the 10th thread i've seen started on this issue and its not just analog. I've seen some people experiencing the same thing with button throwing also and every thread ends in "turn down to rookie difficulty". That's insane that you have to tune the difficulty that low to make simple routine throws in the infield. I don't want to play with buttons because it's boring. I already play classic pitching but i like analog for battig and fielding. Why on earth they changed this is mind-boggling.

I just set it to where there is no meter and it just relies on how hard you direct the joystick. I haven't thrown many away at all and it has been working smoothly. I forget the exact option but its the one where it wont allow you to change difficulty its all about feel.

^^^ agreed. I turn the meter off, and have no problems, the only throwing errors I have made so far was trying to throw out a runner stealing 2nd base, and one throw from third to first that bounced right before it got to the first baseman.

I'm doing alright now that I moved it down to Veteran (off the HOF level I played on PS3). It is definitely tougher to hit the right angles, though.

I made 5 throwing errors in my first game on All-Star. And still won somehow.

It would sure help if there was a way to practice fielding, but it doesn't seem like there is any such mode in the game. Is there any type of work around for this like trying to play a two player vs game by yourself and having a chance to try throwing the ball around the infield, or something like that?

I have done this myself, and it has made things easier. Hopefully, I will be able to bump it up to All-Star after awhile. Saw that Ramone suggested this in another thread as well, due to the sensitivity of the sticks.

Yeah, I may turn the meter off too, I'm assured at least 2 throwing errors a game, and button accuracy with the meter is really strange because you can't really pre-load throws on double plays, etc.

Regardless, it does need to be toned down some.

Here's a suggestion for those like me who really want to stick with Pure Analog, but are getting frustrated with the difficulty:

While there's no fielding practice in the game, you can use the community challenge feature to set up fielding situations and practice. If you choose the repeating-type challenge you can enable an auto-hit option that will make the ball travel the same path every time on contact.

It's not that difficult to set up routine plays beyond that, just choose autohit and you'll be given a stadium view with a blue line indicating the ball's flight path. Use the L & R sticks to change the trajectory and power, and make it something the infielders can get to. Maybe put a runner on first if you want to set up a double play chance, set some kind of goal (it doesn't really matter what unless you plan on publishing), and go to "settings and sliders" to select Pure Analog throwing and your difficulty.

When you're done go to "Prove Yourself" in the 3rd tab and you can play out the scenario. You do have to beat it yourself once if you want to publish it, but you can just select the prove yourself option over and over if you just want to play it yourself.

It won't make the fielding any easier, but you'll probably get better at it. Oh, also, you might want to double check the throwing meter setting once you actually start the challenge, for some reason it defaults to Off for me (making the whole thing pointless since the CPU controls the throw).

Wow thanks so much! What an awesome and clever suggestion. I was able to set up some double play situations and spend a lot of time practicing. Although I wasn't exactly sure how to set things up properly, I got it close enough to do what I wanted. I also played some fielding challenges from the public over and over, such as trying to throw someone out at the plate. Not only were these fun but they helped me get a better feel for the controls.

I turned on auto-fielding. I can't throw a ball correctly to save my life.

                        Hitting and pitching is perfect.

Fielding and baserunnung is all over the place.

MLB 2K was way worse, but The Show's version isnt much better.

Not a deal-breaker though. I just wish it was more like it was in the Triple Play/MVP series back on the PSX/XBX days.

I guess I'll fiddle with the settings some more?
