Anyway, I'm wondering how your experience has been using Quick Counts. I'm finding that my walk totals – great in previous years, BQC (before Quick Counts) – was awesome. Spot-on.
Now, I'm worried that I'm actually walking too many players! I'm working with a limited sample size, so I wanted to see if you guys were experiencing something similar.
I'm playing a Mariners Franchise, using Dynamic Difficulty, currently at All-Star. Earlier on in my Dynamic Difficulty experience, I was having the opposite problem on lower difficulties; I pitched two 2-hitters early on, and generally kept my walks between zero and two. Now, I walk at least 5 batters a game, and have walked up to 14 batters in a single game.
I found that I could overcome the wildness in easier difficulties by aiming more towards the middle, but now if I try that, I get drilled. I'm mixing speeds, mixing locations (at least when my guys don't accidentally groove a meatball when I'm aiming for 10 inches outside).
How are you feeling about your control, your pitchers' walk numbers, and any other Classic Pitching elements that come to mind while Quick Counting?
