    Community Challenges WTF!?

    I get them to an extent, my question is if I succeed do I not just break even? If it cost 5k and the reward is 5k, upon success don't I just even out or do I get an extra 5k upon success?

      You break even. There's not a lot of them that are any good. Most are just to help you get the trophy for completing one.
