All of a sudden this year I can't hit

I can't hit home runs. I am late on everything. Every line drive I hit is right at a fielder. Every fly ball is warning track power. I can still pitch great and field great. Last year I thought I finally figured out to hit. Any suggestions on what changed? Did the game just get harder with timing or what? I have tried going in the practice mode. I am kind of confused about this.

Try zone hitting, I find zone hitting to be much easier to make solid contact once you get use to it

I personally had the same problem for the first handful of games I played. I had difficulty adjusting to the ps4 initially. However, I am now eighteen games into spring training and am scoring runs in every way imaginable. In short I would give it some time as my personal experience was that it took me a little while to get the hang of the game and for those hard hit balls to start getting by defenders. How many games have you played and what sliders are you using?

Strange. In 6 games so far I am getting way too many hits. Timing hitting and same difficulty settings I used every other year that produced very realistic results. Using quick counts. Have had 1 game with 27 hits and 19 runs. Another with 20 hits. Averaging around 10 runs per game.

I am using zone/timing. I hate the analog hitting. However, I love the analog pitching and can't stand pulse pitching. Maybe I just need to give it time again.

I have played like 7 games and I use default sliders on veteran difficulty I think since I am notoriously not as good at MLB as I am at NHL.

Use rookie or dynamic..nothing wrong with going to a lower level.

I'm having timing issues too, I just can't get into a rhythm. What I am doing is bumping up my timing slider a notch. It has helped a bit.

Also, I think that the power swing button has more utility this year than in the past.

I dropped the speed a couple of notches on PS4 from my PS3 settings.

I don't know if it's just an optical illusion with the new graphics, but I was swinging late on everything and this fixed it for me.

Using dynamic this year I finally see why I struggled so bad in previous years. After playing Spring Training my hitting is still at Rookie+ and Pitching is AllStar+. Guess I'm worse than I thought at hitting.

I'm 12 games into my Franchise using Dynamic Difficulty and so far I've flirted with Veteran for about a minute and have mostly wallowed away in Rookie.

Currently: Rookie+ Progress: ----

This is like my fifth Show, too, so I'm not some newcomer. Hitting is just hard, always has been.

oh man i thought i was the only one, my timing is early in this game but on the ps3 i was getting runs like nothing, and ive only hit 1 home run in my rtts manually

im using the x button cause thats what ive always used to hit, and im on the dynamic difficulty my pitching is all star ++ but my hitting dropped down from vet+ ++ to vet -- i need to see a shrink or somethin cause im doubtin myself lol and ive had every show since 07 on ps2

I use Zone hitting I use the Buttons to swing I use Dynamic Difficulty. I have been stuck on Rookie hitting Progress as high as ++++ only to see it drop over the last 6 game to progress ----- Like many have said, I hit the ball at it is always a weak comeback to pitcher or a flyout or a double play everytime. my timing has gone from late on everything to normal with solid contact YET same results....I am at a loss here as to how to hit here?

I always try and work into a good hitters count.

Well... none of you are crazy.There is something different with the hitting on the ps4 vs the ps3. I'M using the same slider set that I used in 13.. and for some reason the hitting doesn't feel right .. last year with my sliders everything felt great/realistic... on the ps4 , not so much. I mean the pitching feels Great, and based on everyone elses comments , you all are experiencing the same thing. I too use timing for my hitting ... I had to take the pitch speed down a notch or two , cause I was swinging late. The hits just dont feel like they are coming of the bat solid.... if I increase the timing or contact slider even by one notch .. I'm killing the ball... if I take down at all , then everything is a weak feeling grounder or pop up..... Im still playing around with the sliders to get the feel I want , yet realistic results at the same time.
