    Too many opposite field hits?

I know this seems like an obvious question to just swing earlier but I still feel like I am hitting way too many balls to the opposite field. When I try to swing slightly earlier and sit on a fastball most of the time it results on a groundout. I am scoring plenty of runs its just bothering me that most of them come on opposite field hits when the majority of hits come on balls being pulled IRL. Does anyone else seem to have this problem? Any tips. I use pure analog hitting.

Switch to classic or zone and see if your timing is still late.

Pay attention to the swing feedback and see if the timing feedback makes sense. i.e. Were you actually late? If it feels like the game is lying it could be a latency issue with your TV/setup. I notice that on my tv which as very low latency I have no timing issues, but on my gf's tv I am always a few frames off so I have to adjust my timing. Looking up the two models the difference is about 40 ms.

The easiest remedy is to turn the pitch speed down, but this will also make offspeed pitches slower as well.

Same here but on PS3 pure analog.

It's not that i'm late, but the quality hits are 60/40 to opposite field. It's been like that since '13. After a couple of hundred atbats, oppo starts to feel better and you swing for it automatically. Last year there was a bug, where most righties were created as oppo hitters in RTTS. I wonder if it's still there.

Interesting as I tend to swing early and pull the ball majority of the time. I use Zone hitting though.

I use analog and understand exactly what you mean, however I think it's more of a happy accident. Your thumb rests on the stick so that a "down-up" motion is more like "down-up-to-the-right". Trying to push it left means either making your thumb lengthen in size, magically; or moving your wrist, which takes more effort than a thumb-flick. I am much better at spreading hits around with righties, and usually hit MUCH better with lefties when I pull the ball--both of which coincide with real life.

Try hitting under the ball a bit with righties by moving left stick down on anything below the waist and on the inner half. Much like real life, it's easier to ground out with balls pitched inside because you can't extend arms as well, and end up rolling over the top of it. Moving the left stick down will drop the barrel and get you more line drives to LF.

right on Mason! I noticed this over the past few releases of the Show (as, perhaps, the control have become more sensitive?), and it occurred to me that the natural motion of my thumb is to "blame" because of the controller's design and my physical makeup.

I now am a primarily gap-to-gap hitter, and inside heat really ties me up if I'm not ready for it. it seems like the only times I really get a good pull on the ball is from a change up or a hanging curve. but I've embraced all this, and now wait juuuust a bit longer on most pitches (the CPU constantly goes away from me) and just drive them oppo. consequently, my power numbers haven't really changed, and I am actually hitting more bombs because I am squaring up the barrel. when you do that, the ball freakin' goes!

This is a very interesting point. I have always been able to pull the ball better with lefties as well. I just thought it was because I am a natural lefty. However, all previous years I have been able to pull the ball just fine with righties or lefties and I have used analog hitting since it was introduced. I will try your advice though. Thanks!

My RTTS character seems like a natural push hitter, Great timing swings usually wind up as liners the other way.
