I'll try the auto sliding option, but I feel that will conflict with actually trying to steal the base. I always seem to get thrown out stealing unless I manually slide headfirst towards center field away from the tag.

Re: Hit and run, runner always slides

I know what you mean. I've been doing some manage only games, though, and I've had guys steal pretty successfully. They seem to be able to do a faster headfirst slide straight into the base that I can't make happen with manual sliding.Comment

Re: Hit and run, runner always slides

ive given up trying for hit and runs because of this. they need to have an option of off for slide assistance because this auto slide crap is annoying (specially when my guys are constantly sliding into 1st...)Comment

Re: Hit and run, runner always slides

Try turning sliding to Auto instead of Assist and see if that helps.

Also, the sliding into first is a result of you trying to do a break up slide into 2nd base, I'm assuming. If you just let the CPU handle it, they will do a break up slide when they are close enough, so you don't have to do it yourself. I figured this out about a week ago and it's alleviated some of my frustration with guys diving into 1st base when I'm trying to do a break up slide into 2nd.Comment

actually no, the slide into first happens even when i have no base runners. cpu triggers it anytime its a close play for some reasonComment

Re: Hit and run, runner always slides

The sliding into second is annoying also when you are running and the batter hits a pop fly. You gotta wait for the slide animation to stop, get up, and run back to first in hopes you get there in time.

Wow, I have never seen the CPU make a runner slide headfirst into 1st base before in all my years of The Show.Comment

Re: Hit and run, runner always slides

Weird. The only thing I can think of is that the act of pushing up with analog hitting is pre-loading a head-first slide with runners. Maybe try releasing the RS as soon as possible after completing the swing?Comment

Re: Hit and run, runner always slides

Thata exactly whats happening. I used to slide into first because I held the right stick too long. I stopped holding it and I dont ever slide into first anymore.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush
