RTTS what happened to Hit and Run and Bunts?

I've never once been instructed to hit and run or bunt by the manager in RTTS. I've only been given defensive shifts and told to look for the double play.

Have those been removed?

I wish they'd bring it back but tweak it.


Don't punish us for stealing when we're not told to (which is why people hated it before), BUT do have designed steals and designed hit and runs, designed bunts, etc.

It's unrealistic to just never have any sort of strategy from your manager.


I also hate when I'll have a runner on 1st and I'll be at the plate, and he'll just take off without me knowing. Vasgergian will be like "and here comes the hit and run!!" And I'm just sitting here like "thanks for keeping me in the loop guys. I didn't get the memo we were doing a hit and run"

I agree - it would be nice to be given a heads up when a runner is going to take off or to have a manager suggest a hit and run. Like sometimes I take off for 2nd and hope the guy swings - would be cool to be in sync with teammates and managers.

When I take off for 2nd I usually hope the guy doesn't swing, I hate when I have an easy steal and then the guy fouls off a 2-0 pitch

I agree that should be added. Maybe next year it will be put back in since they reworked how we get points.

One thing I wish they would do is give the outfield points for more than just fly balls. I have had to run up to grab a ground ball that went right past the second baseman and then thrown it to him quick to either throw someone out at home or to keep runners from moving to an extra base. Unfortunately no points are awarded for fielding it cleanly off the ground and for a good throw decision.

Also I hate being told to shift up only for the ball to be hit over my head and practically back to where I would have been if I hadn't moved. Granted I know sometimes a managers plan won't work but 4 out of 5 times it will sail right over me giving the runner extra bases while I run after the ball. I have actually started to ignore it when it tells me to shift because I can usually move a few steps for an easy out.

I would love for it to be mid-AB that was my biggest problem before is you get hit and run on an 0-0 count, a little box on the scorebug could just notify you pre-pitch on say a 2-1 count that a hit and run is on.

I liked it when I was at-bat, did not like it when I was on base. Not sure if I want it back or not.

I think they should bring it back but give the player the option to accept the sign or not to. The same for bunts when your on base. I can't tell you how many times I've hit a lead off double just to watch a pop up, a strike out, and then a ground out when a bunt would've moved me to third for a possible sac fly. Also suicide squeeze plays would add so excitement for me. Just my opinion.

Yep, really enjoyed it in MLB 12. No clue why they got rid of it.

It's not just your opinion...it's right! I got really frustrated because I'll bunt with my RTTS guy when a runner is on 1st and no outs but no one does that when I'm on first base. Argh, it would be great to be able to call a hit and run etc.
