Check swing has been ruined for Pure Analog Hitting

Just grabbed my PS4 today with "The Show" and dove right in with my old settings. I noticed stride timing is much different this year and I can deal with the adjustment, but check swinging has been changed to just letting go of the analog mid swing.

In the past versions you could mimick a real check swing by holding back and stoping the stick mid swing. It was perfect and it wasnt something I had to conciously think about to make it work. Now Im supposed to let my thumb of the bat. You don't drop the bat in real baseball for a check, you muscle up and stop your swing momentum.

Anyone else struggling with this aspect?

Can't say check swing is different this year...have no problem with it...i'll agree stride needs to be done earlier this time round but check swinging seems to be same as ol.

Still works fine for me and i've used pure analog since it was introduced. Stride is definitely much earlier this year.

Ya I will second that about the check swing. Works ok for me still and I have also been using it since it was introduced. Also correct on the stride timing. You have to load up much earlier.

Maybe it is in how the check is done? I pull it back all the way to check rather than just stop. Discipline ratings count to success of checking as well.

I'll say this: I switched from timing to analog this year because I could not check a swing on timing with the digital buttons.

Hmm....maybe it's me then or getting used to the PS4 controller. I just barley touch up to swing and seeming pull back in time, but my guys are still taking a full cut every time.

I feel it's actually easier to check this year.

Never played anything other than Zone + Analog since MLB 12.

I play pure analog and feel that I'm having a harder time checking my swing this year. The batter will usually "check", but its seems its called a strike for more often.

And yes, the load timing is very early. Too early, IMO. Swing motion doesnt feel smooth.

Be sure to turn off the option to contest check swings, otherwise it's called a strike nearly every time.

I also use pure analog and hope they bring back the option for classic bunting, otherwise i bunt accidentallyor show bunt pre-pitch and it is a major distraction plus no slow play optionits disappointing and i do not fet why this has been removed .

I do that, too. How do you do the pure analog? I don't pull back all the way before I swing, otherwise I'm late on everything. The problem is that sometimes I accidentally bunt, or I don't swing at all at some curveballs. I'm curious how others use the pure analog swing. I have to hold the right analog stick with the tip of my thumb, and turn the controller slightly to the right, otherwise my pci is always outside. Inside pitches tear me up.

How do you hold the controller? What part of your thumb do you use? Do you tilt the controller? What kinds of pitches do you have the most trouble? BTW, I use Hall of Fame difficulty. Anything else feels cheap. Hitting a baseball is supposed to be hard.

oh wow i am not alone. I start my thumb on the inside and slightly up depending on batter handedness but i have to be extra careful otherwise i show bunt so i pulll down first below middle then go up to inside and up. This helps me hit inside heat very well because i pull down to inside low either 4:00 or 8:00 depending on batter hand. I also am on HOF
