    franchise error CE-34878-0

I have been trying to play my franchise and every other game it seems in the 2nd or 3rd inning the game just quits to the dashboard and gives me this error code...Is anyone else getting this?

Since monday it started happening to many while playing in online franchise. It has not been as bad lately for me as it was earlier in the week but occasional it will still happen. I hope the issue gets corrected along with a list of other things.

Do you think this is an issue of a corrupted save file? I am only a few games into my franchise but was off to a great start so don't really wanna delete everything and start over if it doesn't fix the issue.

I believe this is a sony network issue. This error code has come up in the past for other games that had single player content while being connected to the internet.

When the user disconnected from the internet and played the single player content offline they never received the code.

Other reports of people deleting their save files and formatting the hardrive only for it to happen again while connected to the internet.

I disconnected and turned off the internet to my PS4 and tried to play the franchise game over but it brought up the same error code in the exact same spot in the game twice in a row. It is in the 2nd inning after the first out. I found someone else on the internet having the same issue and the ironic thing is we are both doing Twins franchises. Kinda strange.

Are you able to sim past the trouble innings or try simming past the scheduled day and play other games on schedule to see if it continues to happen.

It happens to me in RTTS actually. It's only happened twice, but both times it's been on my 2B in the MLB on a groundball to 3rd on the throw over to turn two. That's really specific, I know, but the two times it's happened it's been that same exact situation. It's pretty frustrating, especially after MyCareer on 2K was destroyed by this error.

I've not had the error on MLB, but it was common on NBA2k14. Its a sony error and there was no way around it. Don't both contacting sony either...they have no fix.

I keep getting this error code (CE-34878-0) while editing rosters in MLB The Show 14 (PS4). I get the error while editing from the main menu, in season mode and franchise mode. I get this error after I edit about two or three teams at a time. I've been submitting the PSN error code when it prompts me. I just figured out that I can attach a video, which is like the last 30 seconds of what I was doing and submit it with the error code. I hope Sony fixes this issue, it's every annoying. I have also reinitialized my PS4 as suggested by Sony support for this particular code, but the problem still exist. This has been happening with various roster sets.

I also received this same error many times when editing roster sets in Madden 25, but I never hit submit.

This error is very streaky. I've tried things such as save to Cloud and play off that save, and re-save the cloud save locally and play off that save. I will say that once you get by this particular error, you can play bunches of games without seeing the error again. You can also try an in-game save in the 1st or top of 2nd and re-boot and see if that helps. The only thing I don't like about the in-game save route is that some of your stats up to that point aren't preserved even though the main box score stats are.

Happens to me all the time in Online Franchise. Happened to me twice in the last 3 days. It's always at the worst times. This game is really bad online.

                        Re: franchise error CE-34878-0

I've had it happen to me twice in my offline franchise. I've heard that it is because of the latest firmware update. Last night was the first time I've ever had a crash since I've had the Playstation 4. I got it again today playing a game and I'm now concerned abou it. I guess the solution (while a bit of a hassle) is to save in-game after every inning or so. I don't really like doing this but if the problem persists it might be the only way to give myself peace of mind. When I get into the late innings I'm more worried about the game giving me the error than anything.

What would be really, really nice is if SCEA somehow put in an auto-save like many role-playing games do, that saves the game automatically throughout the game. Say after every half inning the game auto-saves. We, as the user, would never see this because it would be behind the scenes but if we got crashes we could just boot up close to where we were.

not due to the latest firmware as this was happening well before the update

Well, I'm going to hope that this is an isolated issue and just doesn't show up again.

Good luck as I have had it happen numerous times now and again it isnt isolated to MLB The Show. I also experienced same error code while just trying to watch the PS E3 event via the E3 App on PS4
