How to handle Byron Buxton & other Prospects?

This is my first time playing a Franchise in the Show. Loving it thus far!

I've chose to rebuild the Twins. I have Buxton & Sano. Buxton is rated an 80 but in Double A. When do I bring him up to the Majors?

Does the game provide me a hint as to when he's ready? If I bring him or Sano up too early, does it ruin their potential?

A lot of questions....I really want to use them but don't want to screw things up. Especially since I can save this Franchise long term now.

I would move him to at least AAA now if you have a good player at his position in the MLB, but 80 is definitely MLB ready. But if he is just gonna ride the bench, you are better off leaving him in AAA until you can make a move

I agree. Move him up to AAA and allow him to see better pitching. If he excels there, then I would consider moving him up to the big league club. I just wouldn't move him to the big leagues if he was going to be used in a reserve role. With prospects like Sano and Buxton, you want them to play almost every day to progress.

As a general rule, I try to get hitting prospects around 200 ABs at each level, if they're close to MLB ready (65-70 OVR). If they're rated in the mid 70s, I would move them up unless I have another player blocking them.

For pitching prospects, I try to get them 100-125 IP at each level. I won't promote someone if they're on a cold streak, so I'll wait for them to at least be neutral before promoting. If a player is really struggling after about 75 ABs/40 IP, I'll demote them.

Those are just general guidelines though, every prospect is a little different.
