Is it possible to get out of a run-down?

I've been in about 20 run-downs, caught between 1st and 2nd, sometimes 2nd and 3rd. My guy has a speed rating of 20. Yet I haven't managed to get back to a bag safe even once. Is there a trick to get out of it?

In last years version I made it MAYBE once or twice.. pure luck IMO.

I have absoluetely no data to back this up but I'd assume the success rate in the MLB of getting out of a run down is less than 1%

Yes, but it is pure luck of a bad throw.

Yeah it's just luck. There is no interference in the game, so you can't try to run into someone. You just have to hope for a poor throw.

I got in one between third base and home plate, the third baseman ran after me trying to get to home and as he threw the ball to the catcher I went back to third and no one was covering the base so I got in safe.

odd that the shortstop didn't move to back up the 3rd baseman.

Now I'm a bit mad at myself for not saving the replay I remember it making sense why it happened, like maybe the SS dived for a ball and was on the ground, the pitcher was backing up the catcher and the left fielder couldn't cover third base in time, something like that.

Got caught in a run down between first and second. Ran back and forth close to 7-8 times, hoping for a miss throw. They had a constant rotation of guys at each base. Started laughing to myself because it started looking like a video game because it looked like guys were just coming and wouldn't stop.

Caught between first and second, I ran back to first, then ran to second.

First baseman started chasing me, threw an errant pass to the second baseman, and I got to second safely.

About 3 other times, I've been tagged out or thrown out.

I've slid in under a tag a couple times after getting caught. It's possible. Gotta make your decision really quick though, a real rundown (like a "pickle" situation), they have to make a mistake. Same as real life, really.

I did once, but it was a glitch. I don't know how to explain what happened and honestly I can't remember it too much. It was a long rundown though and I think the guy still tagged me mid-rundown but I was called safe. I had the replay recorded, but it was so long that it didn't capture it all so I never uploaded it. (and sadly I think it was on my previous HDD after my PS3 YLOD'ed).
