    Crowd Issues

Just a couple of observations on the crowd. First of all EVERY game in my season is a sell out, no empty seats. This is as far from realism as possible. Never an issue on RTTS so why is it different on season mode?

Secondly the crowd reaction to balls hit deep/home run balls is poor. Most of the time the crowd don't make a noise until the ball has cleared the fence, just complete silence (in the game). Same with being seated until the ball clears the fence. Previous versions of the game has had the crowd rising to their feet on a ball hit deep.

I just find these simple things (which the devs have got right in previous versions) annoying.

No offense, but i disagree on the crowd noise. From my experiences at baseball games, the crowd gets really excited on deep fly balls because they THINK they are going to be home runs. I dont find many instances where the crowd is silent until the ball clears the fence. In that aspect, i feel the crowd environment is actually pretty accurate. Just my two cents.

Wow, I just started my franchise not even my 1st ST game yet. That news is disappointing if it applies to franchise mode. How do they justify rationing out low budgets, if every game we play is a sell out??? Not that I want huge budgets, I was just looking forward to seeing the realism of half empty stadiums in season mode. Are you saying this applies to franchise or just your season mode of some sort?

The only thing I find distracting/annoying about the crowd is that one person that is usually wandering up and down the aisles behind home plate. You won't notice it unless you're using the pitcher/broadcast views. Sometimes it's a vendor, which is understandable. But when it's a random crowd model… ugh.

I actually like the crowd reactions in the game. Especially the heckling

You've missed my point. In the game the crowd DON'T get excited for balls heading for the fence. You don't hear them until it's cleared the fence (in the game)...I'm saying it should be more realistic and they should make noise.

By sellout I'm talking visually only...full stadiums every game. Not sure about the actual attendances. If that's what you mean.

The crowd noise in general is superb. Just not on the instances I give in the OP.

In the PS3 version, I hear the crowd noise build right off the bat of a deep fly ball.

Dynamic attendance is in for Franchise mode. It's in this video. Clear as day when the game starts that it's not a sellout. Check out left field upper deck and right field seating as well. Plenty of noticeable empty seating throughout the stadium in this video.

Just played @Minnesota in my Franchise and it was practically empty all three games.

That makes it worse that it isn't the case on the 'superior' ps4 version the.

As for attendances it just appears season mode doesn't have variable attendances. Not sure why?

The only thing that really bothers me about the crowd is the FPS drop that comes with playing in big games. It's just not quite as smooth as a regular season game since every member of the crowd is usually on their feet and moving violently. Id probably prefer 2D models over how it is now since the crowd doesn't have any real effect on game-play.

A few of these minor, little things were probably left out of the PS4 version due to time constraints, I'd reckon.
