Re: A Patch?
Yea and monitors work at a different scale than TV's. Most TV's are in the 16-235 range while I believe almost all monitors are in the 0-250 range so your contrast and brightness will be different. I'm not entirely certain AVS HD is the best option for a monitor calibration. I'd do some reading on it first.Comment

A Patch?
I researched the desired PS4 video settings and you want the resolution to be set to your native TV res, then you want RGB(If using HDMI) Ypb/cbPr/Cr(if component) to be LIMITIED. Most sites will say to run FULL but that is not correct because full is not in "code" so to speak. Lastly, Deep color off for now until they patch it to work correctly, as of now it is throwing some issues.
Audio wise you normally want Linear PCM if running HDMI or DTS/DOLBY if running optical. For instance I'm running optical and my surround sound receiver uses DTS surround tech so that is how my PS4 is set to match.
Here is a picture of my calibrated TV playing madden. Taken directly off my TV with my iPhone so not the greatest but shows difference well calibrated tv makes

Re: A Patch?
Why is so difficult for a company to tell us what that patch was last night. I really don't understand it. You don't go to the app store and download an update without notes on what the hell it does. But, for some reason we have to be left in the dark. I really don't understand why it's so difficult for someone to come and say HEY GUYS THIS IS WHAT THE PATCH DOES, rather than have us guess and assume what it fixed.
Ok, apologists, you can now begin your bashing on what an unreasonable idiot I amComment

If you don't notice a difference than it didn't fix anything you use, not that big of a deal.Comment

Re: A Patch?
I think patches are dangerous, an admission of guilt on their part. Why do we download things and not even know what they do and why would they correct things and not notate those things, that's concerning. Something isn't right, I think I saw someone talking about fielders getting the ball out of the glove faster but I haven't seen that, they have half in the dark and the rest thinking they are in the light. I wouldn't trust those patch notes anyways who knows what's really going on.Why is so difficult for a company to tell us what that patch was last night. I really don't understand it. Re: A Patch?
Do you guys think this patch maybe, just maybe, did next to nothing? It might have been things under the hood. Due to the size of the patch, and the fact there's been no patch notes, it's pretty safe to assume this wasn't a big patch, nor was it THE patch (the one that will fix lighting, graphical issues, etc). Everyone just take a chill pill.Comment

Re: A Patch?
I don't see where he said anything about it effecting his playing experience. I actually think it's somewhat unprofessional to not give any notice of what any patch does. Even if it's all under the hood so to speak. I'm somewhat miffed that a Sony exclusive has such long load times compared to a handful of other next gen sports games and miffed again at a few of the lighting issues that were delivered at release. Now I'm not even close to being a game designer or any kind of artist, but in some ways it seems other developers have a better handle on the ps4 more than SDS did or does at this point. Again I could be completely wrong on that. Anyway it's still a great game and I am thankful to have a good baseball game to play when the mood strikes!!
