Problem with pre-loading throws

I am playing RTTS as a shortstop. I almost always pre-load my throws (holding down or pressing the base to throw too before you get the ball). This works great and is highly effective.

However I've noticed a problem with this when covering 2nd base - the pre-loading doesn't work at all...

For example, a ball is hit to the second basemen with a runner at first. I run to 2nd and cover the bag. Second basemen throws to me. While the ball is on its way to me I press Square before it gets to me. Therefore as soon as I get it my guy should fire it to first.

Instead as soon as the ball gets to me my guy does a pump toward first (like a fake throw) and just holds onto the ball. This has cost me many double plays and resulted in runs when I should have been out of the inning.

The only way I've been able to handle it is that now when I cover 2nd I wait until the ball thrown by the second basemen reaches my glove. As soon as it does, I then press the Square and he throws to first. This works, but its not as fluid as it should and I think it takes a little longer this way for my guy to get the ball out of his glove and over to first.

Anyone else experience this? Is this a bug?

I can't help with a solution but my RTTS SS had had this happen a lot too.

I notice it using a 2B as well from time to time. I didn't think I couldn't pre-load it, I thought it was happening because maybe I was pre-loading before the SS ever tossed the ball to me.

Turn off the throw meter, that should help with delay on throws or having to pre-load. In general it makes the fielding to throwing animation a whole lot smoother.
