Inside the park HRs since the patch

I have played about 30 games in my franchise. I play with auto fielding and auto throwing on. Since the patch I have played 4 games. In those 4 games I have given up 3 inside the park HRs (none before the patch) at my home park (Busch Stadium), including 2 in one game. Anyone else noticing a sudden increase in these? If it's an anomaly it is quite a coincidence.

Re: Inside the park HRs since the patch

I have primarily been playing RTTS since picking this year's game up, so maybe my observations are skewed, but I've only seen one.

I had one with my RTTS character at PNC Park on a long fly ball off of the angled wall in right-center field. Took a good bounce to the right off of the wall, and around the pillows I went. I don't recall, however, if that was pre or post "mystery" patch that was just released. But I've never come close to doing it again, and have had nothing more than a double on a ball that stayed in the park since.

I hit two with Brett Gardner before the patch, but I haven't hit one since. It's only happened for me on long flies where the outfielder runs into the wall and misses the ball

I have only seen one hit pre-patch and none post. This is going to sound like a stupid and insulting question but I don't mean it in that way at all. Are you throwing the ball to your cutoff man when relaying it in? Also, are you playing the ball off of the wall cleanly?

Using auto fielding and auto throwing. Played 4 more games yesterday, had one inside the park HR. It does seem to be a case of fielders misplaying the ball via the cutoff (usually a poor throw) but that is way too frequent.

The CPU has had two on me before the patch. I've never made it past a triple lol

Re: Inside the park HRs since the patch

I have had two on consecutive days since the patch, none before it. On both of them (using auto fielding) the right fielder attempted and missed a shoestring catch. The ball rolled all the way back to the wall and the batter was off to the races.

That's strange and I totally agree. There are usually only a couple inside the park HR's over the course of an entire season. Maybe you need to click the baserunner speed slider down a tick? Sounds like every player is Billy Hamilton.

It's hard to find stats that are easy to interpret, but it looks like there's been an average of about 8 per season since 2009, with more than 2/3 (per season) happening in the NL.

I got one on a strikeout by Javier Baez. He swung at a slider in the dirt, then the catcher threw the ball into right field trying to get the out at first, the right fielder dove but missed it, and Baez made it all the way.

Not technically an inside the parker, no, but interesting nonetheless.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

I've not seen any post patch, and only saw one pre patch...it was early on maybe my first or second game. I totally misplayed a ball in dead CF in Boston and it ricocheted. I wasn't too familiar with the controls yet and the batter was 1/2 of the way home (from 3rd) by the time I even got the ball in to my cut-off man.

I wonder if it has anything to do with your fielding and throwing settings being set to auto?
