PS4 running loud

Anyone else having an issue with their PS4 being loud when playing MLB 14 The Show. I have the digital version and it doesn't happen with other games I have. Hoping its normal and my PS4 is in a well ventilated area.

Mine does the same. Way louder than any other game. Between this and some of the other bugs, it seems like the PS4 has a hard time playing the game, like it's poorly optimized or something.

Mine is loud in every game. Has been from the start. Its not gonna hurt it if it hasnt already. Its not supposed to be loud though normally. The Show might be a game that makes it loud. But people have gotten new systems from sony due to it. Ill send mine in when i get bored of the game.

I am fortunate enough to have both consoles, and while I prefer the game lineup (especially The Show) on PS4, the Xbone runs much more quietly and smoothly. My PS4 got loud during Watchdogs last night too.

I haven't noticed the fan in my PS4 kicking up in MLB 14. It definitely ran a bit louder than I would have liked with Killzone tho.

The Show (PS4) will grind when the animations start after you pause the game.

Also, if the SCEA server down, the PS4 will keep trying to upload your saved files:
--if you chose the 'cloud' save option
--and the PS4 is in standby mode or left on

do you guys literally leave your ps4 in stand by mode foreal ? Ive seen people say they do this all the time, i'm from the old school, i turn it on when im playing it! and turn it off when im not! there's no in between. that very thing could be breaking your systems.

Do you turn your computer or laptop off when you aren't using it as well?

Sometimes my PS4 is loud when playing, but I'd say about 80% of the time it's pretty quiet when playing The Show. As the weather is getting warmer I've definitely noticed it's a little bit louder.

Ok... the PS4 is designed to be able to be in standby all the time. It's fine if you turn it off, but you don't need to.

I only leave my PS4 in standby when I need to charge my controller. Other than that I always turn it off when I am done playing.

I hibernate it when I'm not using it during the day, but at night before I go to bed I turn mine off.

I've never been a fan of leaving certain things on and running.

I leave my PS4 in standby mode if its not being used and if I dont plan on it being unplugged. The PS4 is cold when it starts up out of standby mode, so I dont see the harm?

It is optimized to be left in standby mode just like a computer. Turning it off and on everyday will wear the parts out much faster. I leave my laptop and imac in hibernate and i've had them over 5 years with no problems. I only turn them off for a night and unplug them about once a month. Same with ps3.

Standby mode is supposed to extend the life of the console. Everytime you turn the machine on it stresses the delicate electronic components on the inside. Yes, it is made to withstand this stress but you only get so many power ups on any machine. Think of it like a rechargeable battery...you only get so many charges until the battery is junk.
That being said I still power off my machine every night and leave it in standby during the day when not playing.

I won't worry about this. Standby mode is a lot cooler then when on and playing a game, I doubt the temperature change of "standby mode to on" vs "off to on" is that different.

I highly doubt leaving your device in a sleep mode all the time lengthens its life that much if any. I personally for convenience keep my laptops on or asleep all the time (I have old ones still kicking that are over five years old), but I know many people who have had computers for years and years who turn them off every night. Basically whatever you do will be fine, there's no real reason baby your machine.

I've noticed it running loudly a couple of times. I don't put any stock into it because the weather is starting to get hotter & it only happens when my PS4 has been running for a few hours.
