Can you add Individual Players after starting a franchise?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if you can add individual players from the vault or created players after once you have begun your franchise?

For example, I am the Cubs, maybe I would like to add someone like Sandberg or Banks from the vault or create them once I am 20 games into a season.
