    Checking swing too often

I've seen lots of threads here about *not* checking one's swing, but my problem is almost the opposite -- I seem to check-swing way too often, regardless of whether I use analog or timing hitting. It's especially an issue with analog swinging. I wonder whether my thumb is not going straight up or something. I'll often hit little bloopers and choppers, even sometimes getting the "solid" message, with checked swings.

Any advice on how to thumb-up the right stick?

Don't flick the stick, push it and hold it. That should be a pretty simple remedy.

Thanks for your reply. OK, I'll try that. I have been trying to push up firmly, but it hadn't occurred to me to try pushing up and holding the stick in place.

I've also tried striding without pulling the stick all the way down, but that may be too much to think about.

LoL, nemesis, didn't notice your reply before I posted earlier.

I tried holding the stick up, and it worked like a charm. I played an entire game without checking a single swing. Hit the ball more solidly, though I did fail to check-swing on a few bad pitches. So I may have moved too far in the other direction, but in general it was an improvement.
