How to handle injured SP during warmups

For that random day to day injury...Is it cheese to back out and call up someone from AAA? Seems unlikely they couls fly a kid in quick enough!

My long relief is tired so I may have to ask a guy to start on 4 days rest. That's also a bit unrealistic giving a SP just an hour or so to prep.

Does anyone know how the AI teams handle this if they even encounter something similar?

I hope that's not the deal with those, I haven't yet run into those but I'm not in season still in ST. I'd prefer a deeper injury system, something similar to the direction NHL series is going have a display show the wear and tear of each individual players body over the season and pointing what injuries has been suffered, with details about each. I would prefer, some sort of insight like that packaged for an MLB system, than random cheese just so I can call up a prospect for nothing.

As for your situation, if you don't see the logic of calling a prospect up to this particular game and long relief is not available, you could start the game with your best middle relief. I have simmed a game starting a middle relief guy to see what their endurance level is with Reliever Stamina sliders on 0 and he made it through 60 pitches without even getting in significant trouble. He was pulled shortly after b/c of giving up a couple of runs at that point and energy level being low.So ultimately he made it about 3+ innings.

In your emergency situation I'm sure you could run a game on your bullpen and just have your 3 days rest pitcher ready to go in case things get ugly and you need to finish the game.

I always keep two long relievers in my bullpen. It would not be realistic to call up someone from AAA.

I have seen short relief pitchers start an occasional for the CPU and I suspect it was due the scheduled starter getting injured in warmups.

The good news is it always seems to be a short injury.
