    Two way players

I just read this article on espn.com.

A dozen different position players have pitched this season, and it's provided us with some rollicking entertainment in a bunch of otherwise-forgettable games.

It talks about how there are a ton of position players pitching this year. Mitch Moreland and Danny Worth are really notable because they looked great on the mound.

With The Show striving for realism in all the details (left handed infielders), I hope SCEA makes it possible to edit a position player's pitching attributes. Moreland can pitch on the game, but can only throw a 4 seam at 77 mph instead of the 95 mph he hit in a game this year. If I remember correctly he had a nasty slider too. It would also be cool to bring in Worth with his knuckler for an inning like the Tigers have done twice this year already.

I'd put Worth in the BP and call it a day. He can't hit, the Tigers' BP blows..win-win.

Jason Lane is pitching now too, isn't he?

Yes, and he's actually in their latest updated roster as a RP with OF as his secondary position, which is awesome. Although you can't start him as a position player, you can sub him in to play OF. Unfortunately the game does not allow us to edit a pitcher's secondary position either.

So could you potentially pull a move like the Astros did on Monday?

Bo Porter pitched Tony Sipp (a lefty) against a lefty, and he was short on lefty relievers in the bullpen with Paul Goldschmidt (a righty) coming up and another lefty after him. So instead of bringing in a righty for Sipp, he moved Sipp to the outfield (he played outfield in college) and brought Jerome Williams in to pitch to Goldschmidt. Then moved Sipp back to pitcher to face the left-handed batter.

Yes! That's exactly the type of thing you can do with a couple players like Jason Lane, Rob Johnson, and Sean Doolittle. In Johnson's case, he's a perfect emergency catcher. SCEA has not given Tony Sipp a secondary position of OF and it is not editable, so you can't really do it with him, even though I think Porter did what you described last year with him as well.

AJ Reed and Alex Verdugo are two more guys that would be perfect for editing pitches as a position player or giving a secondary fielding position if they are a pitcher. Both were selected in the second round this year, and both were two way players. Come on Russell, let us edit! Lol

I am all for more flexibility, but I wouldn't go as far and say Danny Worth and Mitch Moreland have looked great in their combined 3 innings of work. Giving position players realistic pitching attributes would be sweet, though.

Maybe not great but when compared to Coke, Nathan and some of the rest, Worth has been admirable.

                    That is unfortunately true.
