    Sim Engine Question

Hi there, I am new to the show and have a question regarding the sim engine for the various franchise modes. Does the game use the same sim engine in manager mode, player lock mode and sim mode? Or should I say, does one particular sim mode produce more accurate results? Thanks

    Re: Sim Engine Question

As far as I know, there are three different simulating engines, each with a different speed and level of precision.

Any time live gameplay is occuring in real time, it uses the Gameplay engine. This includes a game between two humans, an RTTS game, a game between two CPU players (that you are actually watching), and the parts of manager mode that you watch in real time.

If, during live gameplay, portions of gameplay are being skipped, then the Sim Engine is being used. This includes the "fast forward" features, the skipped portions of an RTTS game, and the skipped portions of manager mode.

If the entire game is being skipped, the Quick-Sim engine is being used. This includes the calender-screen simulating you do within franchise mode and RTTS mode, where you can simulate several games/days/weeks at once.

The gameplay engine produces the most accurate results, and is far more precise than the sim engine. The sim engine is not as precise as the gameplay engine, but it is more accurate than the "quick-sim" engine.

      Re: Sim Engine Question

If I read this correctly then you're saying that the Quick-Sim Engine and the Sim Engine are actually two different engines?

Never knew this. Could be the reason why I never noticed slider adjustments affecting sim engine results when others report they do. When I test, I always sim the whole season from the calendar view.

      Do I have this correct?

        Re: Sim Engine Question

Thank you for providing such excellent information. From your answer, I guess my question was more about the differences between the Quick-Sim Engine and the Sim Engine. I thought perhaps, they may have used the same engine, but it looks like there are two of them. This helps... thanks again.
