I'd be very interested to converse on all players, but right now I could use an unbiased eye. I am trying to get a realistic J.D. Martinez in my franchise. I know he is not as good as he is playing right now (but if he is, I will definitely take it), so I could use some other opinions to help me shape him up. Because he completely re-did his swing, http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/j-d-m...es-everything/, its hard to determine how much of his Astros stats should be taken into account. That being said, you definitely can't toss them out the window and use just this year's data.
For Contact, I look at average. I would really like to gather opinions on how high a certain average tends to be. Roughly what does a 75 equate to for you.
Power - ISO. Same as average. If I put a player at 90, how many HRs does that equate to.
Vision - K%.
Discipline - BB%.
Clutch - I pretty much ignore.
Bunting - mostly the same, ignore.
Durabililty - Games played.
Fielding stats - I have a rough time with, but I mostly use Fangraphs advanced data.
Speed - I have a hard time with this one, too. I can't find anywhere to look at clocked times, if there is a place that records it. But, Austin Jackson was a 69, so I am not sure if I just perceive him slower than other people or SCEA's rating are different than what I perceive.
Stealing - SB%
BR AGG - Stolen Base Attempts
So, back to J.D. Martinez:
Currently my opinion looks like this.
ConR - 57 (career avg - .266)
ConL - 49 (career avg - .247)
PwrR - 75 (career ISO - .155, 2014 - .333 <-too good, unsustainable)
PwrL - 71 (career ISO - .173, 2014 - .256 <-same, unsustainable, maybe)
Vision - 30 (career 23.5 k%)
Discipline - 45 (6.4 BB%)
Clutch - 50 (I really hate clutch. Don't believe in it)
Bunt - 20
Drag Bunt - 20
Durability - 75 (not enough data to say if he sways one way or the other)
Fielding - 60
Arm Str - 60
Arm Acc - 65
Reaction - 50
Speed - 65
Stealing - 15
BR Agg - 10
