Hey guys, I was hoping someone could help me out with Franchise mode. I bought The Show for my PS4 because I haven't played it in several years. I remember in the last game I played, you had the options of setting prices for say food and whatnot, and you could run marketing campaigns, and had goals to achieve.
It seems like in '14, or over the years, they toned it down a lot. Don't get me wrong, I don't need to set prices to food, as it has no impact on the game itself, but I've been having some problems I hope you can help with.
The biggest problem is my budget. I recently started a Franchise with the Twins and I simmed a season so that I could improve my team in the offseason. I traded some older players for young prospects to rebuild and free up cap space to make some offseason moves. In the offseason, I had plenty of budget after resigning my best players (about 24 million in available budget), and I targeted Melky Cabrera in the outfield and Escobar for SS. Everytime I offered up a contract and simmed a day, it would tell me that I could no longer afford the contract and that the offer was withdrawn. However, my pending offers were lower than my available budget (normally, I had about 2-4 million difference between available budget and pending offers). Eventually, CPU teams signed both of these players and I targeted a couple less spectacular outfielders and pitchers, but the same thing happened, despite the offers being for even less money than for the other two. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?
Also, can anyone give me tips on how the trade logic works? I've noticed that mainly, the responses are that the trade "is good as it benefits our team", or "doesn't fit our current strategy". Does the former mean they will always accept and the latter mean they always decline? I've also seen one that said "good as it fits our rebuilding strategy". How can I figure out what their strategy is without offering a bunch of different trades to them?
I appreciate any help, thanks in advance!
