    Odd Free Agents (Franchise)?

Searching through FA's in my Cubs Franchise (first year), I found several A and B Potential players age 22 and lower. Most were rated in the mid-40s, but some are actually legitimate prospects. Is this unusual or is anybody else seeing these players?

    For example...
    Fringe--
SP Alonso Mora: Age 18. 48 OVR, B Potential
RP Bernard Morillo: Age 20. 44 OVR, A Potential
    Legitimate--
RF Justin Higley: Age 21. 62 OVR, B Potential
SP Michael Feliz: Age 20. 61 OVR, B Potential

Are teams just cutting their lowest MiLB players, regardless of potential?
    I'm using OSFM v3 w/pitch edits btw...

ya it's pretty normal. I've seen a couple times. Now if you let yourself pursue that player or not that's a different story. I know some people will say no way cuz its not realistic but just cuz potential is good doesn't mean the kid will hit .330 or have an ERA below 2.50

Depending on the situation I like to look at those guys as as International free agents. 21 and under I see as your carribean guys and then the over as possible cuban guys that still need time in the minors like Leonys Martin or Puig.

I actually treat them as international prospects, too. In the offseason, the Braves and Diamondbacks both swooped in and signed 50s/40s A/B players that I had offered, so the CPU does recognize their potential and try to sign them, which is good.

They are actually cut/unsigned draft picks. The roster logic will only let you open the offseason with 95 players so if you draft 7 guys you will automatically lose 2 of them if you finish with a full roster and have no retirements.

The oddest one I noticed was when I ran a few test sims with the default roster.
Nelson Cruz always remained a free-agent until the All-Star break before being signed. I noticed this at least 6 or 7 times, this was back when the game was first released in April. I haven't ran any test sims since that time.
