Because of what I personally think is a bit of a bug in mlb14, namely too many pick offs at first base, I would like to minimize it at least when I am on the field, by telling the 1st baseman to NOT hold the runner on, go to Normal, or Double Play whatever.
I do that, he moves in the dialogue box, but no matter what I do after that, when I go back to the game, he is still holding on the runner.
I hit the square, it has choices I don't really understand, but none of them change him, Reset to Saved Settings, Reset to Default, Reset All to Default, maybe one more. None of them work, he is always back to holding the runner on when I go back to the game.
If it is possible to tell the 1st baseman to not hold on the runner, could somebody explain how to me. I have tried a hundred times, I just don't get it. Whether I choose all batters, the specific batter who is up or whatever, it never works.
I'd appreciate any help. I think this is a bug and don't understand why they don't fix it. I see 3-4-5 pickoffs at first in a game, not at all realistic. The runners are taking too long a lead. I am in Player Lock, so cannot tell them to decrease their lead, but I doubt that would help, and reset defense doesn't work in non player lock for me either. And it happens to my team, as well as the AI team. Something just isn't right.
Can anyone help getting the first baseman not to hold the runner? Thanks.
