But there shouldn't be a hole in the lineup. That's my point. The player should just stay in the lineup until I decide to replace him. Injured players play all the time. I dont get why the CPU has to pre-emptively make changes to my team.
If I'm understanding you....this is happening on the schedule screen when you go to play or sim games...when you get the auto fix screen....hit circle it will back you out...and go to the lineup/pitch rotation screen...find the injured player and replace him...then go back to the schedule screen .

Sometimes it happens after a game, if the injury happened during the game...
or sometimes it happens before the game... I pick my lineup out for the day, press enter, and I get a "scripted" (for lack of a better word, but I mean no ill will there) injury... you know what I'm talking about, where I get a prompt saying the player hurt himself in batting practice or something.

Either way, the prompt says the player has X injury for a couple days and that he can play through it but I should consider giving him some time off.

I don't think Circle is an option here? There's certainly no on-screen indication of being able to press circle... Can't say I've tried it though. I will definitely keep this in mind and give it a shot. I guess I can start a game and continuously dive around until I get injured... lol.

Whenever I've had a pre-game injury, I always have to actively remove the guy from the lineup and replace him with someone else. I've never had the CPU automatically do it.

After the prompt, the game will take me to a player on my bench to replace the injured player. However, it doesn't put him in automatically.. I still have to make the switch myself.

Assuming you're experiencing the same thing, all you have to do is not make the change and start the game, if the player is still able to play.

I'm definitely a proponent for the more options the better. Sometimes I feel like I need to reread

Yeah I just got the prompt again on another injury, and Pressing circle did NOT work. I took a screenshot of the prompt just in case. I'm watching the Mets game right now (via my PS3), but I can try to upload it later, if someone else thinks it is necessary/relevant.

Unfortunately, it was for a bench player, so I cannot ascertain whether the player was again dropped from the lineup (because he was never in there to begin with).

When exactly is this happening ?

Since we're on the same type of subject.

Does the game still randomize your lineup after you SIM or get out of Spring Training?

This time it happened immediately after I finished playing a game and returned to the franchise menu.

Eric Campbell was injured during the game, and immediately after the game, I got a prompt saying Eric Campbell is hurt with a strained abdominal muscle and will be out for a few days.

My options were Auto, Keep Active, 15-day DL, and 60-day DL.

I've tried both of the first two options before. It seems like if the player is in my lineup, he's removed after I make a selection, no matter what it is.

I'd like to point out that I can start the next game and insert Eric Campbell into the "temporary lineup" screen (or whatever you want to call it) immediately before a game starts... I can also substitute Campbell in mid-game at any time, even with this injury.

So him not actually being capable of playing is not the issue here. The game just assumes I want all injured players unequivocally removed from all lineups, 100% of the time. This is neither convenient nor realistic. Every team in the Majors has at least a couple players that are playing through an injury right now.

You and I both know there are players in real life who get injured and never miss a day. The manager and coach have the final authority on whether a player is removed from the starting lineup due to injury. The premise of Franchise Mode is that I am running the franchise, so I don't understand why decisions like these are made without my input.

Not justifying, because I absolutely understand and somewhat agree with the frustration you're having.

However, my guess is that players are automatically removed to account for people who don't adjust their lineups much and just play games.

I could be wrong about that, but that's what comes to mind for me.

What is worse is seeing players called up while I'm simulating. I'm playing as the Cubs and just wanted to sim until the All-Star break. I had to start over because Alcantara, Soler, Baez (apparently moved onto the 40-man somehow) and Russell (who was put on my 40-man after the trade)--players (aside from Rule 5-eligible Alcantara) I don't want to waste a year of control on--were all called up before the break.

That happened while you were controlling the Cubs, with roster moves set to Manual? That's a first, if so.

This isn't happening if he has the roster moves setting correct.
If he has it on auto...of course it's going to happen.

Bobhead.....I thought you were talking about it happening on the screen where it tells you to auto-fix the lineups.
Yes...if a player gets an injury....of any severity...it will remove the player from the lineup.
It doesn't differentiate for day to day.
But it only removes the player...it doesn't shuffle the lineup.
