    Trading Rule 5 draft picks?

It happens on occasion, I know. Just ask Johan Santana, but my question is, if guys like A.J. Cole and C.J. Edwards make it to the Rule 5 draft somehow in a franchise, is it considered cheesing the game if I select them then trade 'em? I haven't done it at all but I was wondering what everyone thinks.

It's your game, do what you want to make it fun!

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I wouldn't draft them personally. Johan Santana was never considered a top prospect. Rule 5 is for gems.

What's considered to be a gem pick and just oversight by the talented CPU GM? I would readily be able to tell the top prospects apart by name, but what about scea developed players?

Talented CPU GM? Oxymoron at its finest.

              ^^ this above all else,

but yes, this is cheddar. It's no different than ripping off the cpu with a trade. I don't draft guys via Rule 5 or waiver claim them if they are primo prospects.

i'LL say this! Make sure its someone you want to keep. A rule 5 player cannot be release or sent down. They have to stay on the ML roster unless traded.

You can release them.. they just go back to the team they were originally on.

I couldn't do it, but like several have said it's your franchise.

Last year in my M's thread in Year 3, the Cards left their #2 prospect OF S. Piscotty unprotected and of course me having huge holes in my OF, took him and the moment I did, I regretted it, so I traded him back (never thought about just releasing him)

I haven't advanced to the rule 5 draft in mlbts14 but in past versions I didn't see any star players available. I have completed the amateur draft and I didn't see any future superstars.

I use the same self imposed trade restrictions to insure I don't rip off the CPU. Within those restrictions I trade rule 5 guys.

Thanks for the input guys. I didn't think it'd be fair to sign those guys anyway. Considering how I gutted my entire farm system for only 3 players in my franchise.
