Does base runner ability/aggressiveness affect doubles and triples?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find any info on it.

I'm speaking both for sim stats and played games. Or is it only speed?

I doubt BR Ability and Aggressiveness affect things other than base steals.

Triples definitely are affected by Speed, in simmed games, but I don't think I've seen BR Ability/Aggressiveness affecting them.

The effects on doubles are harder to see since it's a combination of speed and gap power, etc., not just speed.

I figured that but just wanted to be sure. Thank you.

For the first time in a couple of years, I have been using auto baserunning and have noticed that quite often players with an above average steal rating (what used to be base running aggressiveness) but low speed rating get thrown out trying to go from second to home, making plays that I'm assuming are linked to their steal rating - it is especially annoying, as it happens in situations where there is no need for them to attempt to go home... nobody out etc.

If this is the case then it could be that stealing influences a players attempt to try for doubles and triples but their success is linked more to their baserunning ability and speed figure.

I was going to ask what then influences the decision of runners to go for extra bases (second-to-home on a single, etc)?

I know some guys on my team are notorious for trying it. I always cringe when Hechavarria does it because it's about 50/50 as to if it's the right choice or not. Yelich has gotten himself cut down more often than I'd like as well.

Is it just purely random? Is it how the player judges his speed vs throwing arm (and the relevant sliders) and I just have it to where players can make mistakes if fielders can make good throws?

I mean, Ozuna is about as fast as Hechavarria, but Ozuna rarely tries for triples, so he has the most doubles on the team. Hechavarria has the most triples because he goes for it a lot, turning some of his doubles into his 6 triples. I can't figure out the difference between these two players.
