MLB 14 The Show commentary is boring, Stale and sounds fake!

I have not liked the commentary in MLB The Show for years and I still think it is not that good especially now with all the power we have in the PS4! And unfortunately it looks like we will be stuck with it for a very long time if not ever! The commentary in MLB The Show still sounds too much like you are listing to a video game instead of real life if you know what I mean. Other sports games commentary past and preset sound a lot more like a real life broadcast then MLB The Show in my opinion anyway. In fact the entire MLB The Show broadcast presentation really needs a huge upgrade similar to what EA is doing for Madden 15 In my opinion Sony is really going to start falling behind and left in the dust this gen as far as broadcast presentation is concerned unless Sony highers someone from a real MLB TV broadcast network with lots of experience like what EA has done for Madden 15 and other EA sports games. Sony could get away with there so so broadcast presentation on PS3 but not on the PS4 any longer.

I am really hoping that MLB 15 The Show will have similar improvements to what Madden 15 is to Maddeen 25.

Someone did an overlay, last year or the year before, with the show's video and mlb 2k's audio. It was done perfect and matched up exactly.

      It was baseball videogame nirvana.

No really, I could have died happy after playing one season of a game like that.

Just FYI, split lines like those aren't old. They were introduced either this year or last, and the second part of the line - the "he does" part - will be different if the fielder somehow screws up the routine play. That is of course rare, but it does happen.

I'm so picky about every games commentary, even 2k games, I just have to turn them off after a month. Then I focus only on gameplay and stats. If SDS had a dollar for every thread and post made on this subject, I dare say they'd have the resources to upgrade the commentary

I think this is my new campaign. Get V.Scully in a booth before he decides to give it all up. I've heard his stories 100 times before and will listen a million more times if given the chance. I can see what is happening on the field, I don't need repetitive commentary.

Chant it with me... scully, scully, scully.

I agree. Scully makes me want to watch baseball. Most others cannot. Especially the Fox crew. (Shudders)

Scully was in mlb the shows baby brother on ps1...pennant race. He was good, the game was just an preview of what was to come. I am sure most know that, just putting it out there and I do agree with you. Its not that the show has bad play by play...its hard when you play so many games of anything it gets repetitive.

Besides the fact if the commentary lines itself are good or not, often the lines are waaaaay to late. If you hit a linedrive for example and it gets caught with a dive or something cool the commentators are calling the great dive/play when the ball is allready going round.

                      Total disconnect.

Also at the beginning of the game when Matt tells us which teams are playing against eachother you really notice he recorded all the team names seperately and they just glued them together depending on who's playing. Sounds really ps2 era and is something that I believe wasn't the case in older versions.

"Big swing at a fastball and he got a lot of it high and deep to center field... and now this'll rattle up against the wall... he's heading for second... he'll take the turn and head for third... the relay... and he's in there with a triple!"

Every... frickin... time. I can list a ton of others. Still there are those out there who will claim real life commentators are equally repetitive.

Call me biased but SNY's crew Gary Keith and Ron are so entertaining on so many different levels. Something like that for commentary would be great.

If you've never heard that bunch call a game I feel bad for you. I watch a lot of baseball I've heard what most have to offer. It's not so much the play by play that's great, it's the entertainment, stories, and knowledge. Great mix and they keep you laughing.

Tbh I'd rather take a shot gun blast to the face than listen to 9 innings of Scully.

i was saying this on another thread too...commentary is the only thing i dont like about this game and its a big problem...but thats all sports games though. i would think it would be cool if they made 3-5 templates of commentary we could select before the game like you select fast play or day or night game.
