Hitting is easy compared to the past games?

Does any one fell like hitting is a lot easier this year then in the past games? I have played ever mlb the show game sences mlb 08 the show and up in till this year I have alrease found hitting to be a little to hard to where I have had to play on allstar with sliders to make hitting a little bit easier has I have fond vertian to be to easy but allstar default to be to hard but not this year. I don't know if it is the game being clearner looking or if it is the sticks on the controller are more precise then ps3 or what but I am killing the ball right now on allstar with my timing slider at 3 and with pitch speed at 7. The last game I even had 20 hits. Should I move the pitch speed up? Should I just try default HOF what should I do? I just started a franchise about a month ago and I am playing half my games I sim one then play one kind of thing. I also play has the gaints a team that is not the best hitting team and I am hitting way way to many HRs in the 11 games I have played hear are my stats for hitting.

HR 22 so 2 a game.

The game has definitely gotten easier compared to the past years but it really started last year (MLB 13). There was a concerted effort to make the game more accessible, and the difficulty level adjustment was part of it. I think this year's game MLB 14 is a bit tighter than MLB 13 though.

It looks to me that you should probably be playing on HoF. If you wouldn't mind spending a dozen games or so just for it, you could try Dynamic Difficulty (DD) to let the game find out where you stand. The issue with DD is that the difficulty mode have you start from Rookie and takes time to stabilize the difficulty level.

It definitely feels like the timing window has been increased to some degree, giving you more of an opportunity to make contact with the pitch.

As for "easier", given I just played a series vs the Reds where I mustered all of 7 hits in 3 games, not sure about that.

we talking about easy. easy right. we talking about easy. lol sorry had to channel my inner allen iverson. no this year hitting isnt easy in my opinion. i think its harder on next gen. i had the hitting down pact last year on ps3. and this year on ps4 i lost my mojo. i flip flop between timing and zone. then i flip flop between pitch speed sliders and cameras views.

With a good set of sliders hitting can still be challenging.

Lol I didn't say that hitting was to easy I said it is easier then the past mlb games. In mlb 08-13 on ps3 on defult allstar I couldn't hit good enough yet now on mlb 14 for ps4 I hit to while on allstar even with my timeing slider down 2 form default witch means I need to play on HOF so this year I am up a whole lever higher of differculty compared to the past mlb games. If hitting was to easy I would be able to hit to while on Legend with my sliders at 0 that is not what I said.

Im with Nomo, last year I found much easier, compared to all other versions. This year it didnt revert back to MLB 12 but changed and tightened up. Its definitely not as hardcore as it use to be. Im now on legend and I use to play mlb 12 and earlier on all star with similar results

I use Zone hitting without the PCI. I hit on All-Star

I'm not sure what tips I could offer for placing the PCI. I just see whereabouts in the zone the pitch is, move the L-Stick to that zone and swing.

For me, I look for one pitch in one zone, or look for a pitch in a certain area (up, down, inside, outside) and then it helps me quickly react with the L-Stick to get the sweet spot in that zone.

If I have two strikes with a weak pitcher, then I typically go to contact swing and don't move it. Chances are I'll get a pitch somewhere in the zone that I can at least make contact with using contact swing.

Im same, zone no PCI. I generally kept in zones where I can identify easily as strikes and can drive..once 2 strikes I "cover the plate and use contact until I get it full or strike out or walk. If Im ahead I try to look up in the zone or "big" part of plate for most contact. Just gotta be selective, look for patterns and use contact to sty alive.

I thought MLB13 was harder for me. I think it was the "swing late in order to swing on time" window that game had.

I had to turn up pitch speed so I wasn't early on everything. Here, there's a decent chance I'd be late on the same speed. I guess it's easier for me to speed up than slow down, and MLB13 made me need to slow down.

On same settings as MLB 12, in MLB 13 I was hitting over .400 and 60+ HRs on all star and HoF. I then went into MLB 14 and was back to mid .300's and 40+HRs. I moved up to legend and had my player .280-.330 over the season and 40 hrs. 12 had the tougher and more unforgiving timing window. 14 made adjustments to allow for more playability and still make it fun and challenging. I found 13 to be unrealistic and easy
