players disappearing ??? anyone have this problem???

I've noticed a couple players that have disappeared from the game after the first season of RTTS.. This happens only with players that are placed in single A for injury reasons, like Harvey, Fernandez, etc.. I'm playing as a pitcher going into my 2nd season with the Orioles.. I noticed Matt Wieters isn't on the team, thinking maybe he was traded I did a player search and couldnt find him. A-Rod is still in the game, just not on a team.. He didn't retire and he isn't in the free agent pool. Wondering why MLB The Show doesn't give us the ability to place guys on the DL instead of p!acing them in Single A ball..

I am seeing this also and like you I can't figure this out. I have tried to restart my RttS a few times to see if this goes away or gets corrected, bu it's the same. The only way to get these players to show is to move them out of class A but then (in RttS) they are not the DL and in the lineup/rotation......

Like you, I am wondering if there is a solution to this

BTW - playing RttS as a SP on the Mets and trying to keep Harvey on the DL and out of the rotation for the first year.. not working out for me so far :-(

The only thing I can think of is placing them in AA. I had tried to just put them on the 40 man roster and still have them in A but that did work either..

I tried to move him to AA, but I think the issue comes from being on DL for an extended time (was doing the max injury time 273 days I think). I tried Dl'ing him for the longest time available, 2xx days and in Class A, then tried AA and I couldn't get him to show up (even simming a whole season, into the next, and he wouldn't show up) for the next season. The only way (For RttS) is to not DL him. I haven't tried DLing him for a shorter time, something like 3 months or so, to see if he shows up....


I was using OSFM rosters BTW. I haven't looked at the Official rosters, but after trying around 4 times, restarting my RttS each time, I gave up. Too much work for something that should just work.....

I never bothered to ask Knight about it and a possible fix/workaround, could try that..

Knight - no i didn't see anything to that effect. I am running through it again, starting from scratch on RttS to see if it happens again. I have Harvey in AA this time, but I have to go through that Showcase thing again......ugggg

I'm refining Mizzou's rosters.. Everybody that was placed in A I'm placing in AA and putting them on the 40 man.. I'm not making the starters either.. After I'm done I'm going to test in RTTS to see if they get called up after awhile.. Thinking that the guys like Harvey(Mets) and Wieters (Baltimore) who are high in overall will be called up after a month or two. It want be perfect but it will be better them disappearing altogether..

OK - simmed through a season and a half..... No Harvey or Parnell, these were two that were on the DL for an extended period of time on the roster, out for the season. They did not list during the season (on DL) or the following season. They also were not listed in the retirement list at the end of the season. They just disappear....


Fun fact - During this sim, Mets traded Wright away for a CP and an RP... I hope they took that contract also lol

The issue here is that the CPU will call them up and start them as it goes by Overall. I pray for the day that they will let use have like a Franchise lite mode in RttS so we can keep the rosters realistic (just rotation/line-ups, and positions) I have one save where they keep kicking Duda to OF because Davis is still on this roster and the rotation is all screwy.......

I had this problem with my Marlins SP. I noticed I was the best player on the team, and Fernandez wasn't on the team. I did a player search, and he isn't in any AA or AAA. He isn't on the team list either. I have redone the 2014 season, using OSFM with Fernandez on the roster, but he still wont show up. He is in our rotation to start and then a week in disappears. I have no idea why.

No Knight, I am creating a player from scratch. I am sure it has to do with being injured and on the disabled list for the season. Also Class A or AA doesn't matter as the player disappears for the game either way. I use the Mets as a team and I have this issue with Bobby Parnell (CP) and Harvey. There are no retirements (not on the list at the end of the season) or notifications during the season. Is there something that happens to the Class A roster, in RttS, because it seems smaller than other modes (but doesn't explain this happening to players DL'd and in AA issue)......

Did you just not notice until the end of the season? The fake draft that you get picked on replaces a very large number of minor leaguers at the beginning of 2014. That very often includes players that are real if they are in high-A to start the season. I had to "save" players like Harvey by moving them back to MLB as he would always be overwritten.
