Little pet peeves that keeps bugging me.

Ok I love this game and applaud the dev team for all their hard work for transfering this game to the PS4 in all its glory but there are still a few things that keeps bugging me. These aren't game breakers or anything but I just wanted to get these of my chest

-when hitting the batter often does a weird late reaction double take when letting the ball pass.
-when you have the pitch selection display "off" there is no way to check to pitcher's stamina/confidence (besides a mount visit).
-you can't select quick counts in live games (only with a workaround) I don't think this was intended?
-catcher hand signs morphing through the catcher
-batters box chalk not degrading after the patch
-sweaty caps on every player (including managers) from the first pitch thrown
-shadows are progressing per batter which is fine but you see the shadows jumping to its next position after an out is made. This should happen where we don't see it (during batter walk up for example).
-when stealing and you hit the ball in the gap and want to advance the (stealing) runner he always slides into 2nd base (even if you press L1 right after the ball is hit).

Last but not least I really hope that we won't see any tags through players anymore from next year on. One of the few times this game reminds me of being...well a videogame.

The sliding into 2nd doesnt happen for me and ive posted videos showing it. Cant remember for sure but the guy complaining about it before might have been using auto base running. I use Assisted.

The sliding into 2nd thing happens to me sometimes. It's not a problem if I hold the L1 button well ahead of time.

BUT

There are times where I'd like to pull into 2nd base standing up, so as to reserve the chance for future running. Pop-up slides on not-close plays would also be nice.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen the ball thrown away and was unable to capitalize because my runner was still stuck in the slow "get up from the slide" animation, on a play where a slide wasn't needed in the first place.

Changing the default sliding decision setting to ON solves this problem, especially if you are using pure analog control for hitting.

The animation for taking a strike is editable in the edit screen for players, change it if it bothers you.

I don't think you understand what I mean. It can happen with any player I believe. I'll try to upload a video with some examples.

ya that would help, cause that reaction is editable so if its not the reaction youre talking about...a video showing what you mean specifically would be the way to go

Going off of these clips in regards to analog hitting...

One thing that bugs me is players morphing into their 'taking a pitch' animation if you don't keep the analog stick pulled back after the catcher receives the ball. This isn't a problem if you hit with the x button because the player automatically strides.

I tend to let go of the stick if I decided to not swing, so the batter will go back into their natural stance. Then, say a player with an open stance takes the pitch. Within a millisecond, the batter moves his whole body and slides his front foot into the animation. I wish the game would just have them look back and step out of the box.

Is that what causes this? Because I also let go of the stick after I stride and let the ball pass. I know for sure this didn't happen in 12/13. Maybe this is happening because they changed the stride timing this year..?

Ive never seen this before at all and I use zone, I dont use analog so Im guessing thats the issue..weird..now that I see it.

I realized how great this game is after my yearly struggle with Madden. With the Show, I have my own list of little peeves (such as the sweat stains and the delay by the first baseman before throwing around the horn) but they are just little peeves. Everytime I play the Show, I'm guaranteed a solid game of baseball and I can't wait until the next game.

What I'm talking about and what you are talking about are related, but aren't exactly the same thing.

I think that the delayed reaction of what your are seeing is just on the PS4. While batters still snap into their 'take a pitch' animation on PS3, they do not have that 1 or 2 second delayed reaction you are talking about.

This would also explain why you haven't seen it in 12 or 13.

This thread is active for this time of year.
Someone asked me about the Opening Day bug and how to avoid it.
I'm vaguely familiar with it.....can any elaborate on it and the fix for it?
