    So... it'll go straight from a pitcher's park to a hitter's park?

Ridiculous. Why don't they stick to how they initially design a stadium?

Cause if they move the fences in Curtis Granderson will hit 5 extra home runs. That's part of their logic.

I'm not doubting that. I'm wondering why they didn't establish they wanted a hitter's park then and there, back when.

I surely hope the Giants never take away any part of triple's alley. Bonds was hitting in a pitcher's park during his HR record chase, and if they moved them in to help him out that would have been... what was my word? I think it was 'ridiculous.'

Regardless, whatever they do is always nice to see reflected in The Show. Also hoping they get BP Village in there this upcoming season.

BP Village should be in this year. The Rays renovations as well.

If SCEA's past is any indication they'll at a minimum get the dimensions right. I wouldn't be surprised if the stadium doesn't look quite right behind the walls as a lot of that construction work isn't completed until close to Opening Day.

When the Padres moved the fences in at PETCO The Show had the proper dimensions for the field but things like the Jack Deck over the right field wall didn't make an appearance until the following year. It's the nature of how real world construction and game development timelines work.

I second this, I'd hate for the HR record to be viewed as tainted.

                  I think you're right.

But then again SCEA has messed up the Mets jerseys two straight years so I won't hold my breath.

Mets brass made a big error when they planned CitiField. When it opened, it was TOO big, but ideal for a guy like Jose Reyes because of his speed (triples). It damaged David Wright's numbers because all of a sudden, his power stroke turned into gap hits. The idea was also to build a big park so they could have a team built on pitching, but the offense was depressed over the past few years.

The team says Granderson would have hit 7 more HRs under the new dimensions, and it's understood that Wright would have had more homers, too. But, the team as a whole struggled on the road, too. They hit 66 on the road, part of the lesser third in the league this year.

I surely hope the Giants never take away any part of triple's alley. Bonds was hitting in a pitcher's park during his HR record chase, and if they moved them in to help him out that would have been... what was my word? I think it was 'ridiculous.'
That would be ridiculous, but Bonds injecting growth hormone and god knows what else to cheat and hit all those homer runs was not?

Because the owners of the Mets are not known for their foresight

Some people don't know the difference.

In all seriousness, I hope the Mets can pick distances and set them for a while. The right field cutout was kind of cool until they moved the fences to make it irrelevant. They ought to fill it in by now.

Funny...the Mets keep moving in their fences because they feel their hitters don't hit enough HRs...yet visiting players have no trouble hitting HRs there.
