Re: Mets moving in the outfield walls for 2015
Based on the Play Index from Baseball Reference, I have the Home Run Totals at New Shea Stadium between the New York Mets and the rest of Major League Baseball:
2009 - NYN-49/MLB-81
2010 - NYN-63/MLB-47
2011 - NYN-50/MLB-58
2012 - NYN-67/MLB-88
2013 - NYN-59/MLB-90
2014 - NYN-59/MLB-71
I am assuming 2012 is when they first moved in the fences.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: Mets moving in the outfield walls for 2015
Giants will never move any of the fences in....That park has been in place for almost 15 years. I think if anything they moved in CF like 3 feet to make room for the garden behind the fences but i dont even know if that happened. Usually fences getting moved in is a desperate move by a desperate organization that doesn't know how to field a team towards their own ballparks dimensions. The Tigers had to move LF fences in for Miggy but that's a case of they probably didnt want him getting too mad at hitting bombs that would be routine flyouts. The Mets have all these pitchers in place for the future and instead of giving them a great pitchers park they r gonna end up getting destroyed in their make shift hitters park.I'm not doubting that. I'm wondering why they didn't establish they wanted a hitter's park then and there, back when.
I surely hope the Giants never take away any part of triple's alley. Bonds was hitting in a pitcher's park during his HR record chase, and if they moved them in to help him out that would have been... what was my word? I think it was 'ridiculous.'
Regardless, whatever they do is always nice to see reflected in The Show. Also hoping they get BP Village in there this upcoming season.Comment
