    MLB 15: The Show - looking ahead

    With the 2014 season just behind us, maybe it's too early to start speculating about MLB 15: The Show. But looking at last year's announcement (which was one year to the day, see link below), it seems like an official reveal actually may not be too far away:

    The 2013 baseball season may have just ended, but we're not ready to stop talking baseball here at PlayStation. We're proud to announce the award-winning MLB The Show series will be coming to PS4 next spring with MLB 14 The Show. The beloved franchise will also launch on PS3 and PS Vita, making PlayStation your [...]

    We all have our own ideas about what we want in the game, but what can we actually expect? Based on dev discussion on this forum and others, it seems like we may be getting:

    * Authentic player/team celebrations - both on-field and dugout
    * More detailed stadiums
    * Sounds of the Show USB/.mp3 compatibility (fingers crossed)
    * Carryover progress from '14 (both RttS and XP I'm assuming)

    Anything else? Remember, this is not a wishlist but a compilation of discussion info from the past several months.

    To be honest Turbo, 'everybody' does know what they want for MLB15 and I'm sure MLB16 won't come soon enough for those left disappointed.......

      I've been trying to look back through old threads to see what Ramone said about the possibility of create-a-stadium but so far no luck.
      I hope it doesn't get pushed back to Show 16. I drool at the thought of being able to play at Ebbets Field, the Baker Bowl and even that old launching pad Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.

        Oh man, totally! I ended up repurchasing '13 on PS3 because I missed some of those old stadiums (and SotS). Unfortunately they've said on more than one occasion that re-rendering the old stadiums isn't worth the effort, but Create-A-Stadium would solve that issue nicely.

        I asked Ramone during a Q&A if Create-A-Stadium was possible in future games, and he answered "yes". Of course that doesn't mean it's going to be included, but at least it suggests it's something they've considered at some point.

          It was a video interview he did where he mentioned it. I just don't remember which one. I want to say it was a Franchise Play interview..........I could be wrong on that part though.

            ya ur correct. I remember he did say it very well could be in 2015 MLBTS.....I literally was just coming onto these boards to ask about what the chances r of re-location or even just the option of (if not a ton of options) just being able to go back to Montreal to be the Expos!!! I am probably just about to start a Tampa Bay franchise for the fact of is create-a-stadium comes I am all over it! and the Rays will probably be in Montreal by 2020 so maybe SCEA can make the process speed up a bit!

              Playing in old stadiums would be great! if i remember correctly, MLB 2k9 had a similar feature, but you had to complete challenges to unlock the stadiums.

                If I remember correctly, doesn't the Community Day crew make a visit to San Diego in Dec to "beta test" the upcoming game?

                  This may sound weird, but I'd love to have a way to edit hats on players pictures when they are traded. Say you trade for Price, and he has a Detroit hat. Instead of him turning into a cartoon. You go to an edit screen of his picture and you have your teams hat and you sticker it on his head.

                    Re: MLB 15: The Show - looking ahead

                    On the subject of stadium accuracy, here's something I picked up from one of Russell's posts on the TSN forums:

                    "For MLB 15 The Show we're looking to implement even more graphical additions/sounds of the stadium and fan specific items (Cheers, signs, events, etc). The things we're looking for can be specific or it can be just about anything that you as a fan see at your stadium or the team you root for. Here are a few examples to get you started:

                    1) Jumbotron animations / videos within the stadiums for all MLB teams
                    2) Fan chants / actions within stadium for all MLB teams
                    3) Special sounds (Bell, breaking glass, etc) within the stadium and what event they're tied to for all MLB teams
                    4) Mid inning or special events (Races, home run events, etc) for any of the MLB teams
                    5) Special billboard/scoreboard/jumbotrons or details of a stadium we may have missed for all MLB teams.
                    6) Accuracy of stadium, day or night for all MLB teams"

                    All of which leads me to believe stadium detail will be making a pretty decent leap forward in '15. Imagine AT&T with the seagulls swooping in in late innings or Milwaukee with the sausage race, I'm not saying we're getting that exact level of micro-detail but it would be awesome!

                      I like where you are going, maybe some hunter pence signs. Haha . I would like to hear some "special sounds" like glass breaking (you would hear a lot of that at Citizens Bank Park). Maybe even a camera that shows a live feed of the batter stepping up to the plate on the jumbotron like in real life.

                        I agree with you Turbo on things for MLB 15. I would like to add how cool would it be if every team had a philosphy similar to their team. For example the Yankees would always go for big name players. The Athletics would play moneyball....etc

                          I'm not one that expects a perfect franchise mode or anything. But I do want a lot of attention paid to the graphics and lighting. The baseball I am sure will receive some tweaks as it always does. But I think issues we see need that extra oomph. This is animations, textures, colors, and jersey accuracy as well as ad accuracy. Things like that are very important to me and hope 15 is at least a decent upgrade from 14 if not a fairly large one. I don't expect perfection. 30 plus stadiums is tough, not to mention keeping track of every one.

                          Also, the LITTLE things. Jersey's like NY need a different template for the numbering. I'm serious about stuff like that. It can't just go on and on with that weird looking template of just erasing the name. It looks hideous.

                            Will the Cubs' new JumboTron have to wait for MLB16?

                              mm0013, a fellow Phillies fan. When you say "philosphy" do you mean the terrible philosophy that Ruben Amaro Jr. has?

                              But back to the subject: I would love of the quality for everything to be improved, what I mean is cleaner looking stadiums, better jersey, more accurate graphics. Thats really it, maybe some new features but appearance is my main concern.
