    Waiver trades

Not to be confused with wafer trades, which seems like a great way to experience all the available flavors of the delicious snack.

    ...Ahem... anyway...

I put Dillon Gee on trade waivers. 2 days passed. I got a message saying the Diamondbacks claimed Dillon Gee. It asked me if I wanted to withdraw Dillon Gee from the trade waivers. My options were "Yes," which does exactly that. It immediately pulls Gee and basically puts me back where I was 2 days ago, unable to trade Gee.

Or I could pick "No," which immediately sends him to Arizona for free.

In real life, you have a third option, where you have another day or so to work out a deal with Arizona (and only Arizona, since they were the team that claimed him), thus allowing me to possibly get a return in a trade.

How do I do that third option? It doesn't seem to be possible.

    I agree. I don't think it's possible.

This goes along with part of the Rule 5 Draft. You can't trade Rule 5 players to the team selecting them, either, like what happened to R.A. Dickey between the Twins and Mariners.
