    Jason Heyward

Does anyone else just plain kill it with Jason Heyward on this game? I'm on HOF difficulty, using a hybrid roster set, and J-Hey's stats for the year are as follows through 90 games, .301-25HRs-20SBs. Mike Trout territory. The weird thing is Justin Upton almost has the same attributes against righties and hits better against lefties, and he's hitting .211 for me with 9 HRs. Everyone else is hitting close to themselves. So I'm already thinking about locking him up along side Freeman long-term. Until...

real life Atlanta had to go and ruin it all for me. Why would I trade away all that for a middle of the rotation guy? You killed my multi-year franchise Hart!

But back to the point of the post, who kills it with Heyward?

He plays well enough I won't be parting with him once I carry over my franchise from 14 to 15.
    In Show 14 he hit 37 homers 120+ rbi's & around .270
I played a Braves season on Shows 11, 12 & 13; I don't remember his exact numbers but IIRC he put up similar numbers. If I had his batting average in the .330's then I'd truly consider that as him killing it.
When I get Show 15, he'll still fight like a brave, he ain't going nowhere soon lol

Players have up and down years so kill it with him this year and just not get solid contact the next.

I'll say this, though, it is your franchise and digital world so you don't have to mimic the trade if you keep your franchise going.

I haven't played MLB 14 the Show, as I stuck with MLB 13 until I buy a PS4. But Heyward was a beast for me on that game (Hybrid roster), .275 29 HRs 107 RBIs with 36 SBs in the 2013 season. Definitely sad to see him go from the real life Braves.

Justin was at .224 23 HRs 68 RBIs
BJ was at .240 19 HRs 49 RBIs with 21 SBs
Freeman was at .261 20 HRs 92 RBIs
Uggla was at .235 18 HRs 69 RBIs

He's a beast, but I have him hitting lead off. .320, 15HR, 30RBI, 23SB, 47R, 61.2RC thru 88 games. Oh but wait for it.... He fractured his leg on a pick off play to 1st. He's out for 2-3 months. He was igniting my offense at the start of every game. Rather it was the long ball, a gapper turning a 2B to 3B or turning a walk into double by successfully stealing 2nd... SMDH.... HART!!!!!

Lol. funny... Trout has monster numbers early in his career. They both hustle hard on diamond. They both leave it out on there on the field.

While we got Casey Kotchman for Mark Teixeira. The Angels drafted Mike Flipping' Trout with the compensation pick they received from the Yankees.

Doesn't mean the Yankees would have drafted him though. They could have taken some other bum that would not make it past Low A. Also hindsight is 20/20.

Huh? The point of the exercise was that the Braves would hold onto Mark, the Yankees would still make a play at him in the offseason, and the Braves would be drafting in the spot where the Yankees would've picked. But yes hindsight is 20/20. But I'd still much rather have the ability to draft a Mike Trout than one year of Casey Kotchman.

Miss read that then my bad. But who knows that braves would have drafted Trout then. I mean he was passed up by 24 other teams before being drafted. Paul Goldschmidt was drafted in the 8th round of that draft as well. Matt Carpenter in the 13th, Darin Ruf in the 20th, Trevor Rosenthal in the 21st, Matt Adams in the 23rd, and I didn't even get to the guys that didn't sign and were high picks later on.

                            Re: Jason Heyward

During my year one off-season (Winter meetings) I made a strong trade for Jason Heyward.

I sent Brett Gardner, And two 20 year old "A" and "B" prospects for him. Gardner was coming off a career year for me leading the team in SB's (54) and BA (.290) with 10 dingers and 67 RBI's. However he had a season ending knee injury in September and we never recovered from his loss in the lead off spot in the post season as Icihiro was pretty much done (and of course along with Jeter retired).

I have Jason hitting third vs righties and 5th vs lefties as Jacoby has now moved to the lead off spot and Jed Lowrie is our new SS for the next 5 years (signed him in FA to a 5 year deal).

So I am excited to have Jason in pinstripes as we play through year 2. I have huge expectations for him as a RBI producer and a bona-fide stud for me in RF. I am doing training for him to become a better overall base swiper. His speed is very good, but his stealing ability needs work.
