    Slight delay when pressing L2 for runners on wild throws!

    Ok after now playing MLB 14 The Show PS4 version for months and Months I feel I can bring up something that's been bothering me a lot.

    I don't know if I am just doing something wrong or if it's a gameplay animation issue or what. But it seems to me that when you have base runners on base and if there is a bad throw which goes past your First, Second, Third or Catcher there is a slight delay when pressing L2 to advance the runners. Like for example I had a runner on first base and the throw was thrown over the first basemen head and I instantly clicked the L2 button to send the runner to second and there almost always a slight delay before the runner takes off to the extra base. The base runner is like just standing there or even on the ground if he slid into the base for like a full second or so after pressing the L2 button. And because of this delay I either end up getting thrown out or if im lucky I am able to send the runner back to the base when I realize the runner did not take off to the next base right away. Do any of you notice this often?

    My gut feeling tells me this is a slow to react animation that probably needs to be removed and replaced with a much faster one. I see this happen so much and that's why I feel it needs to be talked about if it has not already.

    I really think and I am sure most of you would agree that MLB The Shows gameplay is for the most part fantastic. But there are a lot of left over "Slow" type animations from last gen that need to be removed and updated with faster looking animations.

    The baserunning and fielding animations really need some work in this series. Things could be tightened-up in many regards. I can tell you that I still make a at least one baserunning gaffe per game on average and I consider myself to have above-average stick skills.

    Easy tag-ups, controlling multiple guys heading in multiple directions, and just trying to take advantage of wild throws or balls in the gap for that extra base it not as fluid as it could be.

      Agreed. I notice this more on bad throws to second on steals. Player gets up from his slide and stands on the base before taking off. Not very realistic at all.

      The other animations that get to me is the pitcher when fielding a bunt down the line. If he falls off the mound to his left, he always seems to get off very fast to the third base side and vice-versa.

        Thats because you're supposed to use L1 not L2.

          Really are you sure about that?

          So hitting the L1 button will send 2 runners instantly on wild throws? I always thought the L2 button was for advancing all runners? And pointing the left stick at the base while pressing L1 was for sending the lead runner?

            L1 is the advance button, regardless of whether you're advancing one runner or all of them. An L1 press/hold by itself advances all, or you can advance a single runner with it by press/holding a direction before you press L1.

              R2 is for stopping the runners not L2. The only time L2 is used is for stealing otherwise you are utilizing L1, R1 and R2 for actual running on the basepaths.

              L1= Advance all.
              R1= Return all.
              R2= Stop all runners.

              Depending on your base running control those above functions can be used in conjunction with targeting specific runners to those commands.

                Kind of unrelated but kind of related... sometimes on a hit and run my runners stop on contact, even when I'm holding L1. This happens especially, but not exclusively, on bunts.
