    DH a Pitcher

Why can't we do this in the game?

Probably because most people wouldn't do such a thing.

I was expecting that response. Just because most wouldn't, doesn't mean we should not be able to do it. Most people would not insert a left-handed infielder, but SCEA made the change this year so we could do it.

Shohei Otani is pitching in Japan and DHing on the days he doesn't pitch (or playing OF). He hit .274 with 10 bombs in 212 ABs. There is no reason why someone in the future won't do this in the majors.

I always say the more options the better. The biggest reason I can see why SDS made the effort to make left handed fielders possible wasn't because a few people would do it, but because of what would happen when it did happen, a lefty would magically turn into a righty.

I wish we could pinch hit with a pitcher too. My team has several pitchers that hit quite well.

These kinds of nuances are lacking all over the place. No option to forfeit your own DH either.

I haven't had any problems pinch hitting with a pitcher. The option to forfeit your own DH is an issue.

On one hand I'm almost certain you cannot pinch hit with a pitcher. On the other hand I've had like 4 cups of vodka so what do I know

Have you tried adding a fielding position as the pitchers 2nd position in the edit, and then seeing if you can DH with them?

Well, that brings me to an even bigger irritation. The game does not allow us to edit a pitcher's secondary position to allow a fielding position. If they are given a secondary position by SCEA, (Sean Doolittle for example has 1B) they are still not eligible to DH.

I love this game, but I enjoy doing some unconventional things with the roster and see the value in potential two way players, even if only for emergency situations. I really hope next year's game allows us to do these things.

Are you sure? I feel like I've done this before. Can't check since I'm not home right now.

                      Confirmed.
On ps4 Show 15, I took out Orioles DH Nolan Reimold & pinch-hit for him using pitcher Wei-Yin Chen.

No yeah I was wrong. I checked yesterday... It was definitely the vodka (that wasnt a joke).

But you really can't forfeit your DH.

Chris Hatcher is another guy I'd like to use as a catcher in a pinch, but the game won't let me edit his secondary position. He has played in the majors at catcher and looks to have a big role with the Dodgers this year out of the bullpen. Some sites even list him as P/C.
