I'd say SOTS is my most wanted feature. It was shocking the first time I used it, how big of an improvement team and player accurate music made. Hopefully Sony gets their act together and give the fans what they want in terms of MP3 support.

I was one of the contributors for the NL Central for DJ Will's music packs and must say...the game just feels incomplete (Or i feel incomplete lol) without compiling at bat and stadiums sounds.

The game is still amazing. Im a day 1 buyer every year. There's just something i love about having the custom sounds that gives each game and stadium its own unique feel. It truly does add to the overall realism of being at the ballpark. Hopefully, Sony gets their ISH together and Russell and his team can work on adding this feature back.

Just thought of the obvious answer to SOTS guys.. it's not an SCEA issue, it's a SONY issue and that they just dont have the framework in the PS4 OS. Well, shouldn't we get on Sony's playstation forums or get in touch with like Andrew House or someone like that somehow and say, "Hey, we need custom songs on our PS4! Let's get to it!" haha. In all seriousness though, has anyone tried this route?

It's not gonna happen. I was on my soap box about SOTS last year and I haven't said anything at all about it this year. I'm really not going to get into it because it hurts too bad lol. But I'll say this and then I'm gonna leave it.

I think that Sony has no interest in making things as far as mp3s go work anywhere near like how it did on ps3. spotify has to be pressuring them to not let that happen.
The issue is we are all stuck in the assumption that SOTS needs to be done how it was on ps3 and I think Sony San Diego has not led us to believe that anything else is doable. why would they? Sony is taking all the heat.
like I said I could be wrong but mp3s are playable on the ps4 in the share app so I strongly believe it could be done.
to me what's more likely is that Sony San Diego is aware they would need to create a new system of playing mp3s in game and it's just not a priority.
I don't blame them honestly they had other things to focus on.
judging by the mlb 16 ideas thread and the amount of people requesting SOTS back I will be shocked if it's not in next year but totally revamped.

Sony are all about making money and lying to their customers. Pretty much a fact.

Example: Legacy Wheel Support for racing games on PS4. Sony said it was 'not possible' because the legacy wheels did not contain the required 'authentication chip' for the PS4. Thrustmaster get an exclusive contract and suddenly we hear that some of their legacy wheels now work.

Recently, Fanatec announced that, after a deal with Sony, some of their legacy wheels will now work too, without the addition of any new chips.

Logitech owners just have to suck it up and either buy a new wheel, or race on PC (which would be cheaper than buying a ThrustPlastic wheel :wink.

MP3 support is a similar issue. Spotify pay Sony money. SOTS doesn't make them a penny.

If you reread my post I clearly state why.
The fact that share factory plays mp3s means that the ps4 can clearly play mp3s. right there myth one shattered that people keep believing that the ps4 doesn't play them. So if the ps4 plays them why not allow me to put my mp3s on my ps4 and listen to them? Honestly the only logical reasoning is that sales for subscription services would suffer. That's a fact.

what I'm trying to get at is if Sony San Diego really wanted to and by that I mean dedicated much needed resources to make mp3s work in a similar fashion as share factory does for SOTS that they could. But again I don't think its a priority. I think this year it was on their list but didn't make it because they didn't have the much needed resources to create the system basically from scratch.

The way SOTS worked on ps3 I truly believe isn't a reality for ps4. I don't at all believe Sony intends to ever let you play mp3s on your ps4. If they did you'd be doing it by now which share factory mp3 integration proves. Sony hasn't figured out how to make mp3 play back possible on ps4 yet? I dunno that would be very hard for me to believe.

It's comical that the newest-cutting-edge supermega-awesome video game console cant even import mp3's. I'm no programmer but I'm guessing the technology is there lol. I assume its about money too. It's lame but it makes sense.

But if that IS the case, could't Sony just charge us $10 or $20 to put OUR mp3's on the ps4? I know I and many others would pay for this "feature."

I've talked enough about it and I'm gonna let it go. I really dont want to be "that guy" and to be clear I really have nothing against Sony or the awesome people who make the show so I hope I don't come off that way. I love my ps4 and I love the show. I've accepted the SOTS situation for what it is and I really hope the fine people in San Diego figure it out somehow someway I miss SOTS and that's really the bottom line.

That saving MP3s to the system itself is a low priority because functionally, the current set-up of playback over USB is fine for most - not because of a Spotify deal. How many games utilized custom music to the extent that The Show does/did? I can only think of NBA2K and WWE off the top of my head.

Then it was "Well, we still don't have in-game music because they want people to subscribe to Music Unlimited!" ...then we got in-game playback over USB.

Ugh I shouldn't have said anything. I dont have the energy to argue. Regardless of why I can't save mp3s to my hard drive the fact that I can't is why SOTS is on hiatus. The thing is I actually agree with you that Sony probably doesn't care about in game music. That's why before we got sidetracked that my point was this.
A.ps4 plays mp3s
B.a ps4 doesn't store MP3s which is needed for how SOTS works as of now.
C. Ultimately it's going to be up to San Diego to make a new system for SOTS

I was shocked to see Sony even allow users to listen to music via USB in that firmware release because I really thought they would push people to revenue generating options only. The fact they did kind of dispells those theories even though it doesn't allow for copying to the HDD. I agree with you guys that the Show developers can and will find a way to pull music maybe with the USB to make it work. It just needs to be a priority. My gut tells me that they will totally revamp all audio and commentary for '16 and they will bring SOTS back next year. It will obviously be a new system but as long as the result of playing custom music is there, we won't care.

I put in my request to bring SOTS in the '16 wish list thread that Ramone created. We have to get as many people wanting SOTS to bombard that post to show the demand as much as possible to ensure it is a focus area early in the '16 planning process. We need it to be priority.

I think the USB option leaves a crack in the door for SCEA to capitalize on and make this work for next year. Where the mp3's are stored for the PS4 to play shouldn't be the problem but I would be curious to see how they handle if a user pulls the USB stick out would it mess up the music editor marks that you assign to each track. I would nail it into my PS4 to have this feature back.

Still not touching this series until they bring the full SotS experience to the PS4. I didn't buy a new console to get a new version of a series with less features than I'm used to it having. I actually bought '15 and returned it the moment that I learned the feature was gone.

Sounds of the show isn't coming back, because of the streaming services and the record industry trying to get a handle on unauthorized music. No game will ever have this feature, this is why it is not an option in NBA 2K.

Sounds of the Show as you once knew it, is dead.

But we have an mp3 player on ps4 now. I don't understand why it isn't possible.
