Re: No Sounds of the Show in PS4 MLB 15

I, as well, am also BUMMED....

This feature 'changed-the-game' for me & I could always freshen up the game a bit, but it's DEFINITELY not a deal-breaker by ANY means.

As long as they keep improving the visuals, broadcasts, movements, & statistical overlays I'll keep making this my #1 purchase of the year.

It's time will come...it's time will definitely come.
Currently playing on PS5 & XBOX SERIES X:

    • MLB The Show 24 - PS5

If Sony gave us MP3 HDD support in 2.0 then SCEA would have been able to re-use the previous SOTS code base to retain the feature with little-to-no development. But given they gave us a MP3 USB player, SCEA would have to recode the software in order to make that work and obviously it wasn't a priority.

I am so bummed and disappointed...

Ramone if you see this...you mentioned in the podcast that "it is still early". Could you see if your SOTS developer(s) could at least develop the player music (batter walkups, pitchers entrances and the home run) slots this year from the USB player we have now on PS4? I think the community would at least be happy with that given the circumstances.

Or as a last resort, will you at least be able to keep the previous SOTS code base in '15 in case Sony releases MP3 HDD support in a release that could be used in the future? It's what you guys did last year so it should be minimal effort.

      Thank you.
If SOTS is still in the ps3 version, will you still release what you already compiled & cut? Thanks!

we need to have a 'none' option. I don't want to hear music randomly play during the game. Too many times it seems like the away team has walkup music.

I thought turning music reverb off would put a stop to it but nope. MLB 11 was the last time SOTS were done well.

Music reverb is just the echo effect from being in a stadium.

it would be mlb 10 for me because i passed on 11 at the time. 12 sots was really bad because they cut so much of the batter walkup, it was really bad.

One thing they introduced in MLB 14 at least on PS4 was the ambiance of sounds depending where you were on the field. If you were in the outfield you heard more crowd noise, and the crack of the bat was much different. I hope they continued to stengthen that direction so the PA, music, and fans, all sounds of the game feel unique and special depending where you place the camera.

It might seem that way...but it's not. The background music you hear playing is stadium music that is played when the home team gets an out on the away team batters. It plays between an out and the next away team batter comes to the plate. Just like in real MLB stadiums...music will play in between outs. SCEA intentionally put in there and, to me, actually makes the ambiance closer to real MLB stadiums.

But I can definitely see how you would interpret it as away team batters having walk-up music. Think of it as away team "outs" music.

Sorry, but this is going to keep me from buying a PS4 for yet another year. Honestly though, I'm not sure I'd buy one anyway. My reasons to own one, as of right now, are zero.

True, I guess I notice it more since it's not my music. Still would be nice to have an option to turn it off. I usually edit a song to create a "none" option but can't do that for this one. SOTS has been good for so long it's tough to not have it.

You can't. Not yet at least. PS4 does allow you to play MP3s off of a USB though.

That's great to hear, but I really really hope before that happens or along with that happening some lingering issues get cleaned up also better AI roster moves n trades along with the ability to change or have the schedule change in future played franchise years.
Not at all that I don't appreciate or look forward to new things being implemented, but in my opinion most games over time just seem to add layer upon layer and what we end up with is all modes or features being jacked up from long standing issues that were never cleaned up.

Ugh. I was bored. Late at night. I had looked thru the whole nba 2k forum and thought I'd check if any news about mlb 15 has surfaced and this is what I found. What a buzz kill and now I get to be bummed for 3 months as well.
