I know he was already posted but I couldn't help but post him again...I mean he is the Face of MLB 😉

Re: Official MLB 15 The Show Countdown thread
Should have been the cover for MLB The Show 15. I was almost certain he was going to be. He encompasses everything great about Baseball.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 03-03-2015, 07:25 AM.Now Playing on PS5:

Agreed! Puig on the other hand definitely does not encompass everything great about Baseball.

First thing I do with the game is throw the cover away! I do think it's ironic that while Dodgers fans are gonna be stoked to see their player, they get to hear the celebrations in the intro of the Giants winning the World Series.Comment

Re: Official MLB 15 The Show Countdown thread
I'm not so sure that I agree. There's something to be said for coming from nothing in Cuba and being able to become something, even if he lives a flashy/controversial lifestyle now. That's the America we like to believe in--a place for immigrants with singular talents. Also, it's good to pay tribute to the international players (RIP Minnie Minoso) that helped to make and to keep America's favorite pastime strong. Not to mention that Puig's talent is undeniable.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Let's be honest. It's been a VERY long time since America promoted the "pro-immigrant, no cats in America/streets are paved with gold" spiel. It's at least pre-WWII.
I think the general image of the ideal baseball player is fairly puritanical. A man who is talented, a hard worker, a leader but also a team player, someone who seems sincere and humble. To see them play is to see love of the game incarnate. No ego just sound mechanics and good sportsmanship. And it helps if they live a decently moral life off the field. For some reason Derek Jeter keeps popping into my head.Comment
