Something like this would be a very simple concept to implement, and all the stats you could possibly ask for would be able to be accessed from one page. It would also add a ton of immersion to your franchise. If they added this and nothing else (other than better trade AI, and owner mode, please) I would be happy, and satisfied. I would greatly appreciate some input from a developer on this, or at least a hint that the stat interface has been revamped. Thanks in advance.

Sortable Season and Career Stats
This is a feature that is in literally every sports game other than The Show, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. And it is long overdue. There should be league wide sortable stats for anything you can think of, positional stats, rookie stats, and career stats. They could easily include this feature straight from the regular team stat page. As you're scrolling through the teams, MLB, AL and NL should eventually pop up, and everyone who has appeared in a game should be able to be scrolled through. Then you should be able to bring up with the press of one of the triggers all previous seasons in your franchise. Press of square would bring up rookie stats, and triangle would bring up career stats.

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
I would love if video games would add an "Export to Excel" function, so that I can take the stats to the computer and analyze myself. Right now all the data entry has to be manual on my end by going through each team.Moderator

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
I can't believe this hasn't already been implemented in every mode (even RTTS). We should be able to pull up our franchise and see league wide statistics, team statistics, career rankings for each category, user stats both by season and for a career, etc. I'd love to have a guy play through his whole career and establish team records for single season and career stats, and then have a new guy try and break his records.Comment

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
Yea stat tracking is something that I feel people have been asking for years for. I doubt we ever get it since franchise mode is so overlooked.Comment

Yea and that boggles my mind too. I know if franchise doesn't get much love I will skip this year as that's all I ever really play.Comment

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
I agree completely. Especially in baseball, stats are king. When you are deep into a franchise, it is important to be able to go back and see who played where and what kind of stats they had. Heck, the PSP could save career stats, so there is no reason the PS4, or even PS3, cannot.Comment

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
And sometimes i get the sense that no one cares about franchise mode and people only care if they can change the color of their favorite players socks and SCEA only wants to give us yet another way to play the game, even though we have like 10 already. Probably just my frustration talking though because I know a lot of people play franchise.
I am in the same boat.Comment

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
True, I am still a PS3 owner but will probably make the jump soon. Its not just the lack of stack tracking in franchise mode that bothers me. The horrible trade logic, FA logic, the contacts being all screwy, players retiring at 34 and top prospects retiring who shouldn't be, budgets being out of whack.

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
Injury history should also be tracked too, even though injuries are no connected in this game to a players health it still could be useful information. It's been said for years they need to take an expanded approach to stat data, and next gen is their prime opportunity to do it. The longer they don't, it causes us all to fall further behind waiting for this game to advance where we all want it to be at. 2015 is probably their biggest year ever with regard to taking this game to a new level or losing alot of support.Red LegendComment

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
One particular stat that I hate when it's missing. Every pitcher should have his outing logged. If I'm going against a team, its useful to know whether their closer has pitched 3 consecutive games, if their lefty specialist is available or what the opposing starter had to do in his previous games. Further, before every game I need to revisit team or player history vs a pitcher, so that I know how effective he's been against us. All franchises keep this information and we definitely need it too.
I wouldn't care about any saber metric efforts made if a simple record like this isn't even kept.Last edited by @legendm0de; 12-22-2014, 06:03 PM.Red LegendComment

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
I agree with everything in this thread!!
I love this game and have bought it every year since '07. Even bought it twice last year to have the PS4 version.
I don't think I can do it again this year if these things aren't addressed. It doesn't even have to be a complete overhaul, just some steps in the right direction would be wonderful!
Baseball is a sport that is very statistically driven, and we don't get to see very much, if any, of that making a difference or even having a presence in the game. To me, it really is the only thing missing from an otherwise stellar series.Comment

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats
Same here, but last year I bought both versions mainly because of the different release dates. This year the only way I'm buying both is if the ps3 Show has SOTS.T-BONE.
