Could be memory space was used for different things. I don't think the High Heat & the Show are identical.
FWIW I loved Hight Heat, even more than Triple Play/MVP and 989's precursor to the Show, Sony's old MLB series.

For RTTS, career stats are available on theshownation but with just 6 stat categories!

I think what is done for online head to head games is that they push the data to a cloud server after a game has finished. So, everyone would likely need an internet connection for stat tracking to function.

BTW, I was able to build a nice little DD site (see signature) from the stats that are generated for Diamond Dynasty!

        And Frankenstein players.
I loved HH as much as the next guy,(maybe more considering how many rosters I created for it) but really?

there's more to a game than stat tracking. Meaning everything that is added to the game or is in the game takes up memory/space.

I would like to have deeper stat tracking as much as the next guy, but at the end of the day, this game is meant to be playable to wide range of audiences, not just the baseball nuts like us here on OS.

I will get killed for this, but I don't understand why Diamond Dynasty was created. It isn't heavily used that I am aware of, and most people seem to be indifferent to its existence. So this year, significant developer resources went into revamping a mode that isn't taken very seriously to begin with.

I understand the need to build a game that appeals to a larger fan base, and I guess that's the intent of DD. I just disagree ideologically with the decision to focus resources on a less serious/more arcade mode like that instead of focusing on the core baseball engine...such as statistics and enhancements to season/franchise mode.

I'd be interested to see the usage stats of season/franchise mode vs. Diamond Dynasty. Maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about and DD is much more heavily used, justifying significant development resources being allocated to it.

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats

The show does a very poor job with stats and has done so since the ps2 game. The lack of career stats is killing the game fast.

Re: Sortable Season and Career Stats

I think the problem is that the community kind of gets distracted with the flashy game modes, presentation aspects, which i will admit many are great, so they seemingly forget or overlook the fact that stats depth are greatly missing. I don't think the development team has purposely avoided stats due to memory restrictions, perhaps they have just not seen enough outcry to place the work priority on it. Every season the on-field aspect improves, but the backend seems to just get barely pasted together. The sad part is that the info is all there and generated, with line scores and box scores, so it just a matter of bringing it all together and sortable to each player. I remember tools we used to use for HH like DangerZ Editor (for lineup and roster management) and other stat side generators that would use box scores to put together deep stat interfaces, it is not as complicated as one may think these days. I think doing what OOTP has done with stats is much less complicated than what SCEA has achieved with the game play of the Show. I can see the stats side not being the most glamorous work, but it will make the game achieve the depth it deserves both on and off the field.
                      David P

Thank you SCEA, for adopting my ideas for a Playoff feature and eventually an 'online franchise'. No credit needed to be given... I am just happy you are working towards it...

Yep been saying this for years I would love the see the MLB OBP leader, instead we only get league stats of AVG ERA ECT

we can only sort stats by a team not MLB NL or AL, this is long overdur

The franchise twitch is this Thursday. So hopefully they will let us know that they are taking some steps in the right direction. This is one of my only complaints with this game as well. I agree with a lot of these comments. I love pretty much everything else about this game.

these games would be so much better if the developers didnt have to worry about the online gaming portion.

when a game from 2001 has better stat tracking its sad. especially for a stat junkie sport like baseball.
agree 100% cough EA sports cough' completed screwed Madden up took out just about everything and stripped it and turned it into a online RPG frenzy that's all well in good but not when you have to strip most of the games components that have been there for 20 years

but back to this, it seems the show only cares about BIG stats even the commentary crap on about how 'oh his average is only 220 he is doing it hard having a terrible season' yet they won't talk about that he has hit 30 HRs and has a OBP of 350..

Same with ERA and W and L anyone else notice that pitchers go in cold streaks because they LOSE games????? even if they have a ERA of about 2 the past 5 games and they are 1-4 it will come up as cold streak.

they need to focus more on the moneyball type stats instead of just AVG and ERA, and it seems that's the only way you can sort your league leader stats.

I love rating players on my own roster as well, and wish I could export the whole MLB roster to Excel. It'd make the job of those that create their own rosters much easier.

Last year, around this time, Russell_SCEA mentioned (paraphrasing) stats are not a priority at this time. A few days ago, Russell stated stats upgrade in franchise mode will be a priority next year. (ghost rider concurred, but bummed out about the corn meal mix - feet still stank)

So, I am totally excited waiting for MLBTHS15, and already pumped for The Show 16.
