    Ads for New Brands

With the addition of the branded equipment, like batting gloves, bats and shoes, do you guys think that advertisements like the UA sign in Wrigley will make it in the game?

I don't know if UA is on board but I hope Rawlings & Nike can replace not all but some of those pesky Show signs.

I think I read somewhere that UA is the official cleat sponsor of the MLB, so if that's the case, hopefully UA makes it in the game. I'd expect and hope most major brands get in, although I'm iffy about smaller brands like BWP and what not.

I believe the sponsorship type and costs would probably be different to show signage than it is to add the equipment so I don't think it's safe to assume that because equipment is added in branding is automatically going to move to signage as well.

        Really just a guess.

Maybe so, but that can't be signed in stone. If a small team like SDS were offered the right amount of money, I don't see how they could turn down sponsors willing to foot the bill.

I think that the problem wasn't SCEA accepting the money. I think the problem is that many of the companies want to be paid to have their image used in adverts. I know that sounds backwards, but that's the impression that I got.

Guys you also have to remember that there is no longer a single company/game with an exclusive contract with the MLB and its companies... so that is probably why we are now able to have these things as 2K did.

Yep, that's the biggest reason I think the signage is isolated and different from equipment.

                    This year? No. Eventually? Yes.

These companies are passing up on some great marketing opportunities by not getting advertisements in the billboards/signs of The Show.

All it takes is for one company to realize that then all of a sudden you'll have a ton of CEOs happy to follow along.
