    Re: soooo close!

Closest I've come is 0 or 1 out in the 9th. (Happened like 2-3 times)

      Re: soooo close!

I threw a 9 inning no-no with Victor Sanchez, whom I traded for.

The only problem was that I didn't score either, so I ended up losing it in the top of the 10th and subsequently lost the game.

      It was really depressing

        Re: soooo close!

I threw a near perfect game in 12 with Felix Hernandez in game 1 of the ALDS vs the Blue Jays but on the final out my shortstop's throw to first bounced and the first basemen bobbled it and instead it was a no-hitter as I got the next out. All-star Default. Then in 13 I throw a 2 walk no-no with Tommy Hanson vs the Athletics on HOF default and in this year's version I threw 8 1/3 innings of a perfect game with Shelby Miller vs the Nationals but Jayson Werth ended it with a double. I turn the play by play off so I never have to worry about getting superstitious. I do my own play-by-play!

The closest I have ever come to a no-hitter was actually a near perfect game. On the Show 11, I lost my perfecto with Ryan Dempster with two outs in the ninth, on one of those hits down the third base line where your 3B goes into the matador animation. Absolutely devastating.

I threw a no-hitter this year with my RTTS, video is on youtube! Threw a no-hitter against my dad with CC Sabathia, first game played on ps3.

So for those who have come close to a no-no, when did you lose it?

Great game CB23........thanks for the screenshot. Every year there are newbies crowing about throwing a no hitter / perfect game without any documentation.

I am still waiting for my first no no, came close a couple of times. Playing MLB12, I gave up a leadoff hit, walk and error in the first inning. The rest of the game Jeff Samardzija was on fire and did not allow a baserunner, but lost 1 - 0.

                Re: soooo close!

I saw someone mention MVP '05, so I will bring up mine from that game. I was using the D-Train, Dontrelle Willis. I was throwing a great game, had a perfect game going, and was striking out guys left and right. I had 19 K's going into 9th. I ended up giving a hit to someone, I don't remember who. I also only had 1 more K in the inning. So I ended up with 20 K's and 1 hit. I was over my friends house when it happened and we all got pissed. I don't have any pictures or anything, so you can believe me or not.

But another so close, has anyone gotten past the 20 K record yet?

                  Re: soooo close!

The closest I have ever come to not only a no-hitter but also a perfect game was kind of anti-climatic since I never went through the game thinking I had a no hitter and/or a perfect game going. It was only at the end of the game after my pitcher completed his 1 hit, complete game victory with an ERA of 1.00 when I remembered, hey he gave up no walks in the game. You see in the 2nd inning of the game with one or two outs my pitcher gave up a solo home run. But from that point on he was perfect getting all the remaining batters out without another hit or a walk.

Other than that I have not really come close to a no hitter. I might have had a pitcher make it into the 7th or possibly even the 8th inning. But never close to a no hitter through all 9 innings. Then again I play with the Rockies a team not know for their pitching strength.

Has anyone ever hit 5 homers in a game? I came close once in rtts, 5th one was caught at the top of the wall!

Other than spamming MLBPA '94. Inside-inside-dustoff-outside. I have never no-hit the CPU. In World Series baseball, twice with Greg Maddux I got into the 7th before the controller jammed up on me with similiar groundballs to Jeff Blauser. Then this year Minor took a no-hit bid into the 7th. I have been on the other end of a couple gems by the CPU. With Kris Medlan and the bullpen I did retire 27 straight after a lead-off single.

Somebody mentioned mvp 05, I threw two that year with Dontrelle Willis and Randy Wolf and haven't come close in the decade since then. Wow. Amazing to even type that.

I once had had 3 no hitters in 3 starts with Mike Mussina on one of the MLB 2K games. But all of the other MLB games that I have ever played, you know, the good ones, and more realistic ones I have never gotten one. So I put an asterisk next to those 3 no no's for the 2K game, and do not count them toward my lifetime videogame baseball achievements. 2K was such a garbage product, and so easy, that it just doesn't seem right to take them seriousley.
