    Quick Counts BB

Recently got back into playing this game and decided to give qc a try as I had never given it a shot.
One issue that stands out to me is BB for the user. Through a good number of games it seems to be consistently way too high.
I am averaging 6+ walks every game and even had a couple which were 10+!!
I have been through most of the slider sets on here but none of them seem to alleviate the problem.
Just played a game on default cpu control/consis/strike freq and got 7BB.
Does anyone have any 'magic' numbers for these sliders which can bring the totals down..

Sliders are not going to change the counts. It sounds like the counts that are being generated are too favorable to situations resulting in walks for you. Plus if you are good at reading the ball in the game it will only exacerbate the situation. Sounds to me it has more to do with programming.

I would like to see a slider for quick counts where we could adjust it to where we saw some early counts.

Define a good number of games.

If you play every game of a 162 season....I would bet the grind of a long season will result in a reversion to the mean.

I have had stretches when I have been seeing the ball really well. And then I will go into a slump and not walk nearly as much.

Baseball has so many variables. Fatigue being one of them if you playing every game and find yourself not in the zone for a good stretch of games. Trust me...it will happen with quick counts. I can bet you will have games you don't walk nearly as much.

In the end the statistics have been pretty spot on for me personally after 162 games. Pitching is slightly overpowering on 14 no question. But overall a huge improvement from 13 where I had the best hitting seasons of my life.

The balance they got on 14 I loved. Where as 12 was unforgiving, 13 too forgiving and 14 had the right temperature of the porridge for Goldilocks.

Yes. Agreed. I think their are too many 3-2 counts which are resulting in high walk totals.
A slider for qc would be ideal but having read through the Quick Counts....Nope thread and seeing Ramones comments I am thinking that this is not likely....as he didn't seem to see the value in asb's generated count system....

There are multiple threads on the QC feature (which I started using last year as well to save time playing 162 games with 2 teams).

            My gripes were
            1) lack of 0-0 count (which I think it should default to if you're pitcher is up with no outs and runner(s) on or if you're on defense and your pitcher is getting tired with guys warming up or bases loaded)
            2) warming up your pitcher
            3) inserting your pitcher (because the batter technically has a count even though they give it to the new guy)
            4) final pitch counts (they never added up correctly saying things like the starter threw 145 pitches)
            5) when facing a new pitcher (if you start with two strikes, how the hell do you know what this new guy is coming with or how he worked the zone)

I liked cutting down the game times though and it seems my pitcher can't go as long when I manually pitch that long, so it was a good trade off for me in the end.

I recently gave QC a shot and over a 20 game period, I noticed that scoring for both teams is very low (I know it is not a huge sample). Are you guys experiencing this?

Scores are definitely low with a few high scoring or blowout games once in a while. Personally, I like it this way. Playing without QC I always had high scoring games. Averaged 6 or more runs per game without QC.

Thank you sir for answering. I just figured that with more BB, there would be more runs. However, the CPU k's shot up as well which almost negates this. Anyways, I agree with you that I do prefer this. I couldn't stand have 20 team walks in 20 games during my franchise. Now, I have like 62 over the same 20 game span. Much more realistic IMO.

I agree. Honestly with QC I've gotten better at the plate. I used to be a free swinger, now I'm more patient.

So you were right. Just had my first wild game where I lost 15-10 and was a combined 15 walks, 28 K's, 33 hits, 5 HR. Ironic it happens after I was getting concerned having numerous 5-3 and 3-2 games.
