I think what Kehlis (and others) have noticed, aside from you bringing up that you're in your 70s all the time, (and I could be completely wrong about everything to follow so read at your own risk!) is that some people on the boards tend to ask questions (probably in good faith, mind you) and, rather than being grateful that people are taking time to reply to them, they may seem to jump all over the person replying as if the reply was a woefully inadequate effort at a response. I'm not even sure if you (or others) intend it like that, but I think some may see it come off like that. Then the issue is not only does it make the person who replied (in good faith even if they were wrong/had an incomplete answer) feel jilted a bit for even trying to help and other passers-by kinda scoff at the whole situation which can devolve into petty bickering unrelated to the original question that the mods then have to jump in and police. But, again, I could be completely wrong. One thing I might suggest to get a better reaction is to not respond at all to posts that don't quite get at your question or answer the question in exactly the way you'd like--that way it's just less of a hornet's nest so to speak (not that I am trying to censor anyone or that I even care all that much). To quote Michael Scott: "It's a win-win-win situation!"

I think the reason that I even cared to respond (and butt in) is because everyone (well, not everyone really...some people are perpetually good natured and come off that way even on the interwebz) makes a post that they worded it in a way that was harsher than it really needed to be or could easily be misinterpreted intent-wise and so forth. I know I am guilty of toeing that line at times, too (although I really try to add something constructive to each critique and not just be a jerk), so I suppose I identify ever so slightly with the situation.
Do you even know what I said in this thread? I said Thanks for the response, but....and that was factual. Yes, I still did not know the answer, and he clearly said he could be wrong. Again, I prefaced that with Thanks for the response. Sooo, what have you a problem with what I posted to him? Be specific, show the evidence in this thread to prove your point, and to the those who so agree with you, as shown by the "likes."

I know which one you're talking about now and they had a patch come out last year that cut down on seeing it A LOT.

This back and forth has nothing to do with the thread.

The original question was answered to the best of everyones ability until further info is available.

The issue usually ends up being that you ask a question, someone responds, you disagree and want a better answer. Or you ask for an explanation and fall back to the answer shouldnt be the way it is. At that point the best way to go about things is to agree to disagree and offer a better solution and not complain about the answer given. If Ramone wants to clarify information given, he will. Wait for his response. But dismissing an honest attempt to explain comes off as demanding.

If you dont know the answer either, how can you say someone is wrong?

Time to stick to the topic and not call people out to explain everything to you, if you dont like the answer, wait till the developers answer. Which they may not do. Enjoy. Its a fun game. Games are fun. Its a thread titled fact sheet and announcing a twitch stream on Thursday. Watch the twitch and wait for community day to post info and hope your concern gets addressed.

Look, I never even mentioned my age, haven't done so since I don't know when. I can't understand why anyone would even make a negative comment about someone my age mentioning his age.

Cavicchi, your reputation precedes you. That is what you are dealing with and it has been explained a couple of times to you now. I am sorry if you feel personally vilified but we are focusing on your behavior, not you personally. So please, don't take it personally, reflect and learn, and allow us to move on while staying on topic. That would be outstanding!

All I want, is to be able to see the flight of the ball (I know, I know, punds can be made like crazy in my case!) But just that awesome feeling when you can see your shot settle into the upper deck!

My reputation, whatever it is, has nothing to do with what I post currently. My behavior? Am I being analyzed by professional people?

What should be analyzed is your post and my reply. Anything beyond that is superfluous.

In an ideal world, I'd like both camera shots. When it is a no doubter and the player knows it, I want to see the bat flip! I get excited with the HR cut scene going all Dick Vitale "Baby!". Plus, I just love a good bat flip. It would just add more to the game.

But, when it just makes it past a leaping outfielder's glove, I want the broadcast view...I want the suspense.

How about this one--Puig smacks one and the camera shows a no doubter scene...bat flip...jog to first...and the ball hits the wall/gets caught instead!

I find it curious that people who usually tend to push for presentation realism actually hope the HR celebration cam gets removed, but I think there are a few things that are getting kind of conflated.

I personally like HR cam for no-doubters, and don't have any issues with it, but I think the game decision on what to define no-doubters could be toned down a bit.

As for tipping HRs, I think more nagging issue is that in many HRs, the fielders actually give up on them too soon, effectively tipping whether a big fly is a HR or not. But this issue needs to be separated from the HR cam.

I always like to see more uncertainties in how fielders responds to batted balls (be it their initial step, taking paths to the ball, etc.), and plays around HRs are not exceptions.

For example, it would probably be fun to see something like a batter doing a no-doubter swing, start trotting down to 1B, and realize the fly ball doesn't carry as much as he thought, forcing him to start sprinting, only to get a double or even single. Similar stuff could be done on fielders too.

I've learned people's behaviors are often entirely different from how the same people act in real life. In general, for the sake of convenience and brevity people in forums tend to be a lot more blunt and disrespectful than they actually are in real life. Texting culture doesn't help either, since there are a lot of crappy writings generated from smartphones, making you suspicious of writers' intelligence. :P

I think it is best that people (on both sides) don't take anything personally, and if certain behaviors are not being perceived well, you should try being extra cautious while simply making points and move on.

Most people here don't really know each other, so even if things look like attacks, it's important to realize it's not really on you, but on specific behaviors people only see on a public place like this.

that is my favorite memory of puig's career so far two playoff ago, granted he did get a triple, but he was all celebrating coming out of the batters box to have the ball fall just short. lol.
