While we are on the subject of new features that are making it in closer to release...roster file carryover from '14 to '15 would make SCEA gods among us mere mortals.

What's that, you say? Get back on topic and keep it to myself....oh, ok....

I asked about this last week during community day. We can't really justify Darin stopping what he's working on to add this for 15. The data part is pretty easy but we don't have the front end support to add in a new option. It's allot of work for our FE artists and programmers at this point in the cycle.

If you use year-to-year saves your save file will inherit all the new face scans that MLB 15 will ship with.

You guys got this to work? Only with existing players i assume?

Example:we wont inherit a scan of Jake Lamb as he was created in 14. A guy like Dallas Keuchal might have a new scan we inherit?

It only works for the players who we now have new scans for.

My understanding is no, you will get the created face scan of Tanaka that you had with your roster.

My understanding is no, you will get the created face scan of Tanaka that you had with your roster.

This is what I was trying to ask, but I figured it wasn't going to work with created guys like Tanaka, Lamb, Hahn etc..... But guys like Machado, Jones, Trout etc...... We would inherit their new scan if they got one.

Darin would be one BAD MAN if he could pull this off, but we all realize limited resources, limited time etc. I appreciate you taking time to address this issue specifically (which is a BURNING question on the minds of ALL roster creators) and thanks for the honest response. The fact that this may be the last time OSFM needs to be re-done from scratch, since it sounds like you guys are at least considering this idea, almost makes everyone going through the OSFM slog one more time not so bad.

This is pretty boss, too. So guys who switched teams will get their new team's ball cap.

If my thinking is correct.. it's the MLB, not SCEA that's instituting the later release date to be more closer to the season start. (Kinda why Madden releases last Tuesday in August since M 06/07 instead of mid August like before)..
