I switched to analog as we previously knew it, because my batting averages were too high even with the most difficult settings. Upgrading to this control scheme for me in MLB 12 catapulted my enjoyment of the game more than double. Now I'm forced in 15 to have it taken from me and use a version that will inevitably become redundant and boring honestly. As has been mentioned multiple times, analog + zone made every single at bat feel completely new, no matter who the players involved. Now all I have to do is push up..
Before this game was revealed I was wishing for somehow even more control of the batters mechanics to be given to us on posts around here. As another poster here mentioned in the thread, user input is highly lacking in the game. Most often you hit a button and the game automatically controls the rest (I'm slightly exaggerating). I grew concerned when hearing directional hitting was their new biggest feature. It instantly reminded me of FIFA games I didn't buy because they only tailored features out of things that already were existent in previous builds of the same game. Instead I held an optimistic view that somehow directional hitting was some major technology added for us to control more of the batters mechanic during swings as I had wished. Now only to find out directional hitting doesn't even apply to anyone who already uses zone which naturally influences direction to a degree.
I will just SharePlay this edition, sell my preorder away, and hope this team get over their problems and do the right thing. It's a difficult decision to make, but the line has to be drawn here or else we'll continue getting pushed around. I even said this last year, when certain features were beginning to be removed and ignored. Now that trend has surpassed anything I could have ever imagined.
